Cultivated plant species and domesticated animal species, including their genetic variants and associated plant and animal diversity, are collectively called 'agrobiodiversity'. These resources are at risk with the expansion of industrial agriculture, and maintaining locally adapted native seed materials in micro agro-ecosystems will be vital for ensuring crop resilience to climate change. This study narrates the learning experiences of a 3-year participatory project – Networking traditional farmers and local self-governments for agro-biodiversity conservation and Wayanad community seed festival – implemented with local communities and local governments. The aim of the project was to democratise agrobiodiversity conservation efforts through a seed conservation movement in the Wayanad district of Kerala, India.

This study focuses on the factors that affect the employee performance in terms of institutions where they work. There are three objects or locations that become the research focus, namely educational institutions represented by the state university in East Kalimantan, government institutions represented by the State AdministrationInstitution (LAN) and state-owned institutions represented by PT. Pupuk Kaltim Tbk. The research results show that employee performance is influenced by three factors, namely competence, work motivation, and organizational culture.The performance of government employees is influenced by three factors, namely religiosity, organizational culture, and organizational citizenship behaviors (OCB). And performance of state-owned employees is influenced only by work motivation.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practice in local area involved three governance components that are local government, private sector and society, so productive and strong partnership among those three components need to be built in order to create good governance in CSR. Partnership and good governance in CSR will create synergy and optimal CSR results, so it supports local government programs to create society prosperity. Some area success in building partnership and good governance in CSR, but there are many areas are failed and involved in corruption case of CSR fund. Building partnership and good governance in CSR is not an easy thing because it faced many obstacles related to basic foundation of partnership and good governance itself.

This study identifies the factors that affect the business performance of Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (SMMEs) in the Sekhukhune District of the Limpopo Province in South Africa. The study collected data from a randomly selected sample of 200 SMMEs and used WARP PLS software to analyse data. The results indicated that five factors, namely "financeâ€, "characteristics of entrepreneursâ€, "location of businessâ€, "government supportâ€, as well as "products and services†were positively related to business performance. In contrast to other studies, this study found that owners' personal funds and their proper management played a key role in the performance of businesses. This has a major implication for government support agencies that provide funding opportunities.

This Discussion Paper argues that the initial mid- 1970s establishment of provincial governments as forms of decentralised authority has been misunderstood. Anthony Regan, to cite one instance, has argued that there was intended to be 'a radical redistribution of power, requiring the creation of new centres of power able to act as a counterbalance to the central government as well as operate as new arenas for resolution of local tensions and disputes' (1992:9). Abstract Every new policy by Indonesian government in National Examination (NE) implementation always obtains different respond from public. Since the implementation, NE system already experienced many changes, but in recent years this system receives serious critiques. As a result, government then abolished this system as graduation determinant in 2014. This research analyzes public opinion, in the form of positive and negative sentiment toward NE policy, and factors that drive the opinions. Data in this research obtained from online news media from 2012 to 2015. The result shows that public sentiment fluctuating from year to year and depends on three important factors, i.e. political pressure, extreme events, and media coverage.

This paper discusses the role of local governance partnerships in promoting sustainable rural development with reference to EU policy over the past two decades. Ireland's experience is presented as an example. From the early 1990s on, new local partnerships associated with both EU and national approaches to rural development compensated for some of the deficiencies of weak local government in Ireland. Partly because of concerns relating to duplication of expenditure and democratic representation, the partnerships have gradually been brought more closely within the remit of the statutory local government structures. It remains to be seen how Irish rural development policy for 2007-2013 will be implemented within this changing context.

Recently, the Japanese government initiated an administrative process that has resulted in the merging of municipalities across the country. Since then, the quality of services provided to inhabitants by the local government has declined in depopulated areas. As a result, it has been suggested that there may be a role for self-organization in the revival of local governance. Despite having a rapidly ageing population, Kawane village has been particularly successful in revitalizing local governance through reorganization of the local community. This research examines a variety of the community activities involved and the unique management methods behind them in an attempt to ascertain the factors that have resulted in successful self- governance in this village.

When I was still young, my parents used to tell us how our family had been deported by the government from Ruhengeri to Nyamata in 1959, when massacres based on ethnic conflicts happened for the first time in Rwanda. My father also told us that the whole region of Bugesera had been a forest and that there were many animals there. Most of my relatives who had been forced into the forest by the government at that time died due to a sleeping sickness caused by tsetse flies. In 1965, six years after my family had been displaced and forced to live in what is currently known as Bugesera District, I was born.

Are certain forms of government associated with superior economic outcomes? This paper attempts to answer that question by examining how government systems influence macroeconomic performance. We find that presidential regimes consistently are associated with less favorable outcomes than parliamentary regimes: slower output growth, higher and more volatile inflation and greater income inequality. Moreover, the magnitude of the effect is sizable. For example, annual output growth is between 0.6 and 1.2 percentage points lower and inflation is estimated to be at least four percentage points higher under presidential regimes relative to those under parliamentary ones. The difference in distributional outcomes is even starker; income inequality is 12 to 24% worse under presidential systems.

Use of plastic is a habit. Ban on plastic is an essential control by government. There are obvious reactions to this policy both from the trading community and the citizens. There are number of effects of this policy on the day to day civic life as well as on the business. The present research paper is based on the primary data collected through questionnaire, from different parts of the city as well as with interviews of the traders. Secondary data is adopted from the government policy documents and by referring websites. A number of suggestions are made to make effective use of the ban on plastic with smooth going.

This study aim to examine the effect of accounting information system and internal control system implementation to the quality of financial report of regional device organization (OPD) in Bandar Lampung and Metro City. The population of this study is the regional services in the Bandar Lampung and Metro City Government environment (18 OPD) with 108 respondents determined by purposive sampling method. The data used are primary data collected using questionnaire through field research. Based on statistical analyzing using SmartPLS, this study found that accounting information system and internal control system implementation affects the financial reports of regional device organization (OPD) in the Bandar Lampung and Metro City Government.
