AbstrakKriya mempunyai cakupan yang sangat luas salah satunya adalah kriya kayu, dimana konsentrasi penggunaan bahan baku utamanya didominasi bahan baku kayu. Diantara keragaman produk kriya kayu adalah produk kerajian sangkar burung. Dari data yang ada diketahui bahwa dalam 10 tahun terakhir telah mengalami booming. Hal ini karena banyaknya muncul peternak burung sebagai komoditi perdagangan maupun banyaknya komunitas-komunitas pecinta burung baik dari kalangan masyarakat ekonomi lemah hingga masyarakat menengah dan atas. Kebutuhan sangkar burung meningkat dengan pesat hampir merata di setiap daerah dan berdampak pula muncul sentra kerajinan sangkar burung sebagai kantong penghasil sangkar burung. Salah satunya sentra kerajinan sangkar burung di kalurahan Kadipiro, Banjarsari, Surakarta. Terdapat beberapa permasalahan yang menjadikendala di sentra kerajinan sangkar burung di kalurahan Kadipiro Surakarta, diantaranya adalah; Tidak mampu memproduksi dalam waktu yang singkat, tidak adanya standarisasi produk fungsional, kurangnya tenaga kerja trampil dalam mengembangkan produk. Tidak ada produk dengan branded tertentu sehingga mudah ditiru. Berpijak dari permasalahan dan kondisi di sentra kerajinan sangkar burung Kadipiro maka dilakukan kegiatan peningkatan pengembangan produk sangkar burung melalui program PPM, dengan target pengusaha bernama Yudi Haryadi yang saat ini sedang merintis kerajinan sangkar burung bernama "Carisa Sangkar" . Fokus dari kegiatan PPM ini lebih diarahkan pada pada aspek peningkatan kualitas produk karya kriya kayu khususnya sangkar burung dengan pembuatan desain yang baik sampai menjadi prototype. Kemudian dilakukan penguatan sumber daya manusia, melalui pendampingan lapangan, yang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan penjualan dan sekaligus secara tidak langsung dapat meningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat.Kata kunci : Kriya, kreativitas, sangkar burung, sistem produksi AbstractCraft has a very broad scope one of which is wood craft, where the concentration of the use of raw materials is mainly dominated by wood raw materials. This is due to the large number of bird breeders emerging as trade commodities as well as the many bird-loving communities from among the economically weak to the middle and upper classes. The need for bird cages is rapidly increasing almost evenly in every area and the impact is also emerging centers of bird cage crafts as bird cage producers. One is a bird cage craft center in Kadipiro , Banjarsari, Surakarta. There are a number of problems that have become obstacles in the bird cage handicraft center in Kadipiro Surakarta, including not able to produce in a short time, there is no standardization of functional products, lack of skilled workforce in developing products. There is no specific branded product so it is easy to imitate. Based on the problems and conditions in the Kadipiro bird cage craft, activities to improve the development of bird cage products through the community service , with the target of a businessman named Yudi Haryadi who is currently pioneering a bird cage craft called "Carisa Cage". Improving the quality of wood craft products, especially birdcages by making good designs to become prototypes. Salah satu warisan budaya bangsa Indonesia adalah Pencak Silat sebagai salah satu tradisi dalam seni pertunjukan dan bela diri yang sarat dengan berbagai unsur kemampuan mengolah tubuh untuk memperagakan gerakan yang mengundang keindahan. Kemampuan mengolah tubuh dengan gerakan yang indah itu merupakan suatu ketrampilan bahkan hanya untuk seni pertunjukan tetapi juga suatu keterampilan membela diri. Selain itu, pencak silat juga kaya cerminan tradisi-tradisi yang hidup dalam kebudayaan lokalnya, yang dipengaruhi oleh nilai-nilai yang mengandung makna filosofi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perkembangan pencak silat di Jawa Tengah dan Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY), dan mengamati proses pewarisan pencak silat dari generasi ke generasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan cara observasi, wawancara, dan diskusi kelompok terpumpun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pencak silat bukan hanya sekedar olahraga, namun penuh nilai dan makna dalam kehidupan masyarakat. Serta pewarisan ilmu pencak silat berjalan dengan baik, dari generasi ke generasi, dari seorang guru atau pelatih kepada murid-muridnya. Hal ini dapat terlihat dengan semakin banyaknya jumlah aliran dan perguruan pencak silat yang berasal dari Jawa Tengah dan DI Yogyakarta.

AbstakKebudayaan Jawa secara popular senantiasa terdeskripsikan dalam nuansa romantis. Deskripsi popular dapat terlihat pada pengimajinasian budaya Jawa selalu termanifestasikan dalam rupanya yang ideal. Pengamatan mengenai minuman beralkohol di Jawa Tengah menunjukkan pertentangan dalam pandangan wacana Kebudayaan Jawa secara popular, terutama ketika memperbandingkan keberadaan minuman beralkohol dengan manifestasi budaya Jawa yang dianggap ideal. Temuan etnografis menunjukkan ciu dan lapen sebagai minuman beralkohol lokal tidak terujuk sebagai representasi ideal, akan tetapi peminumnya memandangnya sebagai salah satu manifestasi budaya Jawa. Permasalahan mengemuka ketika acara tradisional seperti jagongan (seremoni sosial yang hadir saat ritus kehidupan) yang berfungsi untuk mewadahi terjadinya praktik konsumsi minuman beralkohol melenyap. Peminum minuman beralkhol lokal yang umumnya dirujuk sebagai kelompok abangan kini tidak dapat mengonsumsinya secara terbuka akibat berkembangnya gerakan Islam. Temuan dalam tulisan ini tidak sekadar mempertegas pembedaan konsepsi manifestasi budaya yang ideal dalam wacana kebudayaan Jawa secara popular, namun juga mengamati timbulnya ketegangan antara gerakan revitalisasi adat serta gerakan Islam di Jawa Tengah sebagai bagian dari proses demokratisasi di Indonesia. Kajian mengenai budaya dan konsumsi minuman beralkohol sekiranya dapat menggambarkan dinamika yang terjadi pada masyarakat Jawa kontemporer.AbstracThe Javanese culture has been described in the popular discourse as having a romantic sense. Javanese cultural manifestation is imagined to always have an ideal form. My observation presents a paradox when I examine the disctinction between Javanese alcoholic drinks and another cultural manifestation that are perceived as an ideal. In my short ethnographic finding, I found out ciu and lapen as local alcoholic beverages are not considered as an ideal representation of Javanese cultural manifestation. The problem emerges when the traditional ceremony like jagongan (a form of social ceremony in rites of passage) that functions as a drinking haven in the past was faded. The drinker who is generally associated with abangan cannot publicly consume the local alcoholic beverages because the presence of Islam movement. I argue that my finding is not only to show the disctinction of cultural manifestation in the Java popular cultural discourse, but also to capture the tension between the revitalization of adat (customary law) and Islamic movement in Java which are part of the process of democratization in Indonesia. The study on alcohol drinking culture and practice could picture the dynamic of contemporary Java society.

AbstractJudul artikel PPM Tematik ini adalah Menghidupkan Kesenian Ketoprak Di Desa Sanggrahan, Kecamatan Kranggan, Kabupaten Temanggung, Jawa Tengah yang memusatkan perhatiannya pada usaha menghidupkan kembali kesenian ketoprak yang pernah ada sebelumnya. Berpijak pada judul artikel di atas dengan mudah dapat ditangkap bahwa yang menjadi tujuan penulisan artikel ini adalah mendiskripsikan usaha-usaha untuk menghidupkan kembali kesenian ketoprak yang pernah ada dan kini dalam keadaan mati suri. Adapun langkah yang ditempuh adalah mengadakan pelatihan untuk para pemain dan pengrawit, serta pembinaan dalam bidang cara-cara berorganisasi. Pelatihan dilakukan dengan mempertimbangkan kualitas dan kuantitas pemain maupun pengrawit, naskah lakon, pelatih, dan waktu atau jaduwal latihan. Adapun materi latihan meliputi membaca naskah lakon, dialog (penguasaan vokabuler bahasa Jawa dan unggah-ungguh), bloking, actions, perang kombat, perang masal, dan make-up. Latihan dilakukan secara maraton, dan menghasilkan sebuah pertunjukan ketoprak dengan durasi waktu 2 jam dengan lakon Manunggal. Lakon disusun oleh Ki Legowo Cipto Karsono, Agus Joko Susilo, dan Rekryandrie Prabaningmas. Sesuai dengan keinginan masyarakat pendukungnya bahwa hasil latihan dipentaskan dalam acara perpisahan mahasiswa KKN dengan warga desa Sanggrahan yang diselenggarakan pada tanggal 27 Agustus 2018.Kata kunci: eksistensi, ketoprak, Sanggrahan Temanggung. AbstractThe title of this Thematic dedication to community article is Reviving Ketoprak Art in Sanggrahan, Kranggan, Temanggung, Central Java, which focuses its attention on reviving ketoprak art that had existed before. Based on the title of the article above it can be easily captured that the purpose of writing this article is to describe efforts to revive the art of ketoprak that once existed. The steps taken are conducting training for players and players, as well as coaching in the field of ways to organize. The training is carried out by considering the quality and quantity of players as well as players, script manuscripts, coaches, and time or time of training. The training material includes reading script, dialogue (mastering Javanese vocabulary and uploading), blocking, actions, kombat war, mass warfare, and make-up. The training was conducted in a marathon, and resulted in a ketoprak show with a duration of 2 hours with the Manunggal play. The play was composed by Ki Legowo Cipto Karsono, Agus Joko Susilo, and Rekryandrie Prabaningmas. AbstrakPengembangan Potensi Seni Masyarakat Desa Caruban, Kecamatan Kandangan, Kabupaten Temanggung adalah salah satu program pengabdian pada masyarakat tematik yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan potensi seni yang dimiliki suatu daerah. Program pengabdian ini dilatar belakangi oleh potensi desa tersebut terutama potensi seninya, dan juga sosial masyarakat yang berkembang tetapi belum ada suatu arahan yang tersetruktur. Desa Caruban, Kecamatan Kandangan Kabupaten temanggung, adalah salah satu desa yang memiliki berbagai potensi yang berkembang antara lain karawitan, tari, pedalangan dan didukung geliat sosial masyarakat dan pemuda desa. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah mengatasi permasalahan mitra yang terjadi di lapangan, diantaranya adalah kurangnya tenaga pelatih yang memiliki kemampuan praktis dan akademis, untuk menjelaskan dan menciptakan bentuk kesenian baru sebagai alternatif garapan, maupun pembangun karakter bagi siswa-siswa di sekolah dan masyarakat umum. Metode pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan memberikan pelatihan-pelatihan dengan cara pelatihan secara langsung maupun apresiasi bentuk kesenian melalui rekaman audio-visual yang berguna sebagai penambah pengetahuan serta pemacu semangat berkesenian, sekaligus sebagai tawaran terhadap bentuk baru dalam berkesenian yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan kepribadian masyarakat Desa Caruban, Kecamatan, Kandangan Kabupaten Temanggung. Adapun hasil luaran dari program pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah pementasan drama tari, karawitan, pengenalan wayang dan membuat desain bank sampah.Kata kunci: Desa Caruban Potensi Kesenian, Drama tari, Pengenalan Wayang, Bank Sampah. AbstractThe Development of Community Art Potential in Caruban Village, Kandangan, Temanggung is one of the service programs for thematic communities that aims to develop the artistic potential of an area. This service program is motivated by the potential of the village, especially its artistic potential, and also the social community that develops but there is no structured direction yet. Caruban is one of the villages that has a variety of developing potentials including karawitan, dance, puppetry and supported by social and community stretching of village youth. The purpose of this service is to overcome the problems of partners that occur in the field, including the lack of trainers who have practical and academic abilities, to explain and create new forms of art as an alternative claim, as well as character building for students in schools and the general public. This dedication method is carried out by providing training by means of hands-on training and appreciation of the art form through audio-visual recordings that are useful as an addition to knowledge and stimulating enthusiasm for the arts, as well as an offer for new forms of art in accordance with the needs and personalities of the people of Caruban . The economic crisis that has been going on since 1997 has had different consequences in various areas. These differences have also provoked a series of discussions about whether or not there is indeed any impact from this crisis, or how far of this impact can be observed. By looking at the case of Jatinom, this study indicates that a community that does not suffer the impact of the crisis is mainly because of the supportive nature of the local resources. This includes the elastic nature of the agricultural sector and self-reliance of the community, which is manifested through a series of strategies that have been historically developed. The communal perception and reaction of Jatinom community towards the crisis is indeed a reflection of their elastic- optimistic attitude. They never portray an attitude of just being on the receiving side. They are instead preoccupied with productive economic activities, which are based on calculative considerations. This paper also emphasizes that the crisis should actually be looked at from a historical perspective in order to have a more detailed and contextual understanding about the impact of the crisis.

The mentorship and development of art potential in Kaliurang Village Community, Srumbung District, Magelang Regency, Central Java is one of the community service programs that aims to develop the art activities in the area. The performing arts in Kaliurang Village include Langen Taya, Karawitan Aji Budaya, Wayang Wong, and Dance. This community service program is also an initial step supported by the Kaliurang Village government as an effort to reactivate the arts in the area which is currently taking a break due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of this service is to overcome problems in every art in the field, one of which is the lack of knowledge and basic art skills possessed by art performers in the area. The learning method in this activity uses discussion, lecture, and experimental methods. The output of this community service activity is the performances of each art group.

Culture can form civilization or tradition in meeting the needs and well being of the people involved in the environment. One of form the human culture is a work of art. Artwork reveals the attitudes, processes, Symbolics meaning in the form of movement, carvings, paintings, material realized from social and cultural knowledge. Cultural attractions have a high appeal because it has a special value in the form of art performances, traditional ceremonies, the noble values that are contained in an object of man's work in the past. People have a variety of cultural art that consists of various traditions ceremonies, art performances, habits of indigenous people in life. It can be a potential cultural attraction for tourists who visit the National Park area of Mount Merbabu in District Selo, Boyolali regency. The purpose of this research is to know the traditions of performance, art, and culture the people of Selo, Merbabu Mountain National Park, Boyolali Central Java. Culture can shape civilization or tradition in the needs and welfare of life for the people involved in its environment. One form of human culture is the work of art, which reveals attitudes, processes, symbols of meaning in the form of movements, carvings, paintings, material embodied from social and cultural knowledge. Social and cultural knowledge embodies special things such as artistic attractions, traditional rituals passed down until to the present day. The meaning of this honor is an expression of gratitude to the spirit of the ancestors who have helped keep the balance of the region and the agriculture of the Selo community to be safe, safe and abundant. This research uses qualitative and quantitative analysis method by measuring distribution/frequency of performance and implementation of tradition/culture of Selo society. The Selo community has various artistic and traditional cultures, including art performances, ancestral honors (sadranan on the 1st night of Suro), clean villages, and thanksgiving for the harvest. The results of the study found that: 1) the tradition of traditional ceremonies in the form of homage to ancestral spirits (ancestors) of 7.1 percent, 2) performances sendratari of 54.52 percent, 3) the use of public buildings with local architecture of Java that serves as a gallery art as much as 59.03 percent, and 4) Community activities work together 75.48 percent. The data also indicates that the traditions and culture of the Selo community, not only as a potential support for tourism but become an integral part of the development of nature tourism in the area of Gunung Merbabu National Park Boyolali, Central Java.

AbstrakDesa Campursari salah satu desa di Kecamatan Bulu, Temanggung Kabupaten Temanggung, Provinsi Jawa Tengah. Secara geografis, Desa Campursari terletak di kaki gunung Sumbing pada ketinggian 1.040 m dpl, berjarak 1 km dari ibukota Kecamatan Bulu dan 9 km dari Ibukota Kabupaten. Desa Campursari terbagi atas lahan sawah dan bukan sawah.Lahan sawah dipergunakan ladang/tegalan/huma, perkebunan rakyat dan lain-lain.Letak desa sedemikian memberikan sumber daya alam yang berlimpah.Hasil perkebunan merupakan penunjang ekonomi warga, diantaranya perkebunan tembakau yang menjadi primadona.Kesibukan warga pada masa panen tembakau, antara bulan Juli, Agustus dan September.Diluar bulan-bulan tersebut banyak waktu luang, terutama bagi ibu-ibu. Mengisi waktu luang inilah mereka ingin mengisi dengan menambah pengetahuan tentang batik yang selama ini sudah dirintis di dusun Dalangan Desa Campursari, Kegiatan tersebut diwadahi dalam kelompok yang diberi nama Batik Plengkung. Permasalahan kelompok batik plengkung kualitas kain batik yang kurang baik warna tidak rata dan proses pewarnaan yang kurang praktis. Tujuan pelatihan menambah ketrampilan dan wawasan tentang batik, memberikan motivasi untuk lebih mencintai batik kepada warga desa Campursari, terutama peserta pelatihan. Hasil pelatihan diharapkan dapat meningkatkan jumlah produksi dan kualitasnya, memunculkan perajin-peraji baru sebagai pencipta lapangan pekerjaan, dan kesejahteraan warga meningkat. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah pelatihan dan pendampingan tentang teknik mewarna dengan bahan warna sintetis. Hasil pelatihan, peserta akanbertambah pengetahuannya tentang jenis bahan pewarna sintetis dan teknik penggunaannya, karya hasil pelatihan.Kata kunci: pelatihan, batik plengkung, warna sintetis. AbstractCampursari is one of the villages in Bulu District, Temanggung, Central Java Province. Geographically, Campursari Village is located at the foot of Mountain Sumbing at an altitude of 1,040 m above sea level, located 1 km from the capital of Bulu District and 9 km from the Capital District. Campursari village is composed into paddy fields and not paddy fields. Paddy fields are used as fields / dry fields / huma, community plantations and others. The location of such villages provides abundant natural resources. The results of plantations are economic support for residents, including tobacco plantations that are excellent. Residents are busy at the time of the tobacco harvest, between July, August and September. Outside these months there is plenty of free time, especially for mothers. This free time they want to fill by adding knowledge about batik that had been pioneered in the Dalangan hamlet in Campursari village, the activity was accommodated in a group named Batik Plengkung. The problem with the Plengkung batik group is that the quality of batik cloth is not good, the colors are uneven and the coloring process is not practical. The aim of the training is to add skills and insights about batik, to provide motivation to love batik more to Campursari villagers, especially the trainees. The results of the training are expected to increase the amount of production and quality, bring new craftsmen as job creators, and improve the welfare of citizens. The method used in this activity is training and mentoring on coloring techniques with synthetic color materials. The results of the training, participants will increase their knowledge about the types of synthetic dyes and their use techniques, the results of the training.Keywords: training, batik Plengkung, synthetic colors.

The purposes of this activity are 1) the diffusion and testing of cultivation agricultural technology to farmers and 2) to know the problems of UPSUS activities and gives solution to solve it. The activities held on April to July 2017 in Wonosobo Regency and the areas which selected are the Wonosobo, Kalikajar and Sapuran District. Methods for this activity are training and assistance of farmer groups, supervision of agricultural machinery and subsidized seeds aid, provision of balanced fertilizers application, arrange of planting season, rehabilitation of tertiary irrigation, supervision of planting realization; land optimization, and demonstration plots. The results of this activity are providing knowledge for farmers about Salibu and organic rice cultivation, balanced fertilizer, planting according to the planting calendar and providing farmer group's data that will obtain farmer card; providing information to the Department of Agriculture and Food Crop Wonosobo Regency about the agricultural machinery equipment assistance is still not maximized but the activities of providing subsidized seed, balanced fertilizer and rehabilitation tertiary irrigation have been running well. Some problems in the implementation of UPSUS are the time is too short, agricultural machinery equipment aid is not appropriate, the quality of seed aid is not good, the target program of Luas Tambah Tanam is too high and many PPL and farmers do not understand about Salibu. To improve of UPSUS, the government should prioritize the bottom up principle for all kinds of aids or programs; and socialize the new technology system to PPL and farmers.

Semarak Muktamar Muhammadiyah ke-48 yang akan diselenggarakan di Kota Solo seolah menjadi wahana untuk para kader berlomba-lomba memberikan kontribusinya guna kemajuan umat dan bangsa. Tulisan ini merupakan sebuah upaya konkrit yang dilakukan oleh penulis untuk meningkatkan etos gerakan dan strategi aksi Muhammadiyah dalam menghadapi tantangan zaman.
Muhammadiyah bukan saja gerakan pemikiran tapi juga sekaligus gerakan amal, yang dikemas dalam satu pergerakan yang dinamis dan utuh dengan tidak meninggalkan watak ke-Islamannya, Carl Whiterington menyebut bahwa sebagai sebuah harakah pemikiran, Muhammadiyah menawarkan gagasan modernisasi, purifikasi dan moderasi yang komplet.

Semangka (Citrullus lanatus (Thunberg.) Matsum & Nakai) merupakan tanaman hortikultura yang termasuk dalam familia Cucurbitaceae. Buah ini memiliki keunggulan dalam hal efisiensi selama penanaman dan produktivitas buah yang dihasilkan. Desa Depokrejo, Ngombol, Purworejo, Jawa Tengah merupakan salah satu wilayah sentra budidaya semangka yang sangat potensial untuk dikembangkan. Saat ini masyarakat Desa Depokrejo masih bergantung terhadap produk benih impor dengan harga yang cukup mahal. Salah satu upaya untuk menekan biaya produksi akibat pembelian benih yaitu melalui penerapan pemuliaan tanaman dengan teknik kastrasi dan polinasi. Program ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi mengenai teknik kastrasi dan polinasi semangka kepada masyarakat untuk medorong lahirnya benih lokal yang berkualitas. Metode yang digunakan yaitu penyuluhan mengenai teknik budidaya semangka, pelatihan teknik kastrasi, dan polinasi pada semangka serta pendampingan berkala selama pemeliharaan buah dan pemanenan. Hasil dari porgram ini adalah kelompok tani Desa Depokrejo secara umum telah memahami teknik budidaya semangka mulai dari persiapan media tanam, penanaman, perawatan hingga penanganan terhadap kondisi tanaman yang kurang baik. Saat ini masyarakat Desa Depokrejo telah mampu menghasilkan benih semangka Citra Jingga hasil kastrasi dan polinasi sebagai produk benih semangka baru yang dapat dipasarkan di industri pertanian.

The purpose of this study is to explain the relationship between migration, poverty,and fulfillment of food demand. Research design is a mixed method, combining survey and qualitative methods. The survey was conducted involving 100 samples of randomly selected households. While the qualitative method is carried out by in-depth interviews with selected households and key informants. The results of this study indicate that the impact of tidal flooding on the community economy is very significant. For example, more than one fifth of households fall into the poor category (per capita expenditure below the poverty line). One of the reasons is that tidal flooding has resulted in the loss of most people's livelihoods from agriculture. In addition, the loss of agricultural land has also resulted in the loss of food resources. In the end, this caused most households to rely on non-agricultural work, namely as laborers, outside the village. As a consequence they have to carry out non-permanent mobility as a way to overcome the economic problems they face. The interesting thing is they don't want to migrate to other places. One reason why they do not migrate is their inability to overcome economic barriers in the form of costs to migrate.
