Eternità dell'istante. Letteratura e fotografia in Russia
The Moment's Eternity. Literature and Photography in Russia Photography develops along with aesthetic views and literary investigations across the decades. Studying this fertile relationship, the essay outlines the most relevant steps focusing on some exemplary texts of Russian literature, from the mid-nineteenth century to the present. Improvements in the photographic technique, debates on artistic quality and on the ability to capture the experience this new medium shows, developed together with the birth of the great nineteenth-century novel, and with the affirmation of a new perception of time, later interweaving with political events of twentieth-century Russia. The dialogue with photography offers to the artists of the word new opportunities of investigation on time, memory and the self. The fleeting uncertainty of the moment that the photo shot reveals, testifies, in the texts, to the fragile identity that we try to find any time our eyes observe photographic portraits. The latter arrived to the present from remote or close time dimensions.

La distruzione dell'amore. Esilio e letteratura
The aim of this paper is to investigate the connection between the political concepts of power and violence, and the concept of love in the literary and philosophical reflections, which Günther Anders carried on in Lieben, Gestern (1986). In particular, the paper intends to focus on the motif of the destruction of the love feeling in the society of the exiles, as the absence of love novel in 20. Century attests. The theses of Anders appear nowadays extremely topical, moreover if they are read in the scenario opened by the new studies about sentiments.

Petrarca tra letteratura e potere politico
Petrarch between Literature and Political Power Francesco Petrarca (Petrarch) was not only an outstanding poet and scholar of his age, but also an interesting example of a public intellectual ante litteram, at least he appears to be so from the writings he left to posterity. His works in Latin, in particular, provide a strong critical commentary on the political issues of his time and about civilisation and history in general. Petrarch loved to live close to the centers of power and to maintain good relationships with influential political personalities; nevertheless, he managed to avoid getting involved in practical political activity or being recruited as a secretary or courtier. Despite not being of noble birth, he succeeded in being accepted into the most prestigious social circles and, at the same time, maintained sufficient independence and freedom to dedicate his time to literature. In his works he tried to impose ancient Rome as a social model and Roman heroes as exemplars of individual qualities; he also tried to convince the political powers (especially the Italian maritime republics and the Roman Emperor) to re-establish Italian dominance, to as great an extent as possible, within the borders of the Roman Empire. Petrarch sought to quell the violence of Italian political life and restore the papacy to Rome, with the aim of opposing French power in Europe.
