Based upon the interpretation of data that were essentially provided by archaeological and epigraphic records, different circumstances as well as processes of crises and resilience have been proposed during the prehispanic maya period. These circumstances and processes have been analyzed in an attempt to infer their causes and consequences as well as the responses and strategies followed by individuals who were affected and how they were able to overcome them. The circumstances and processes were usually interpreted from the researcher's ethic perspective who pinpoints and assesses different markers or signs as evidence of the existence of crisis episodes and/or calamity situations. In this contribution we attempt to distinguish the categories or indicators that the maya themselves used to identify, describe, and value crisis situations at a moral level. We then compare the results we obtained from the archaeological and epigraphic records with the emic evidence. To achieve our goal, we will analyze written maya Colonial manuscripts such as literary texts as well as historical and prophetic documents where epochs or times were labeled as bad, misery, suffering, or doomed. ; A partir de la interpretación de los datos proporcionados fundamentalmente por el registro arqueológico y epigráfico se han propuesto y descrito diversas situaciones y procesos de crisis y resiliencia en época maya prehispánica, analizando sus manifestaciones y tratando de inferir sus causas y consecuencias, así como, en su caso, las respuestas y estrategias seguidas por los actores implicados para su superación. Este discurso se ha realizado normalmente desde el punto de vista etic del investigador, señalando y valorando diversos marcadores como indicadores de existencia de episodios o situaciones de crisis. En este trabajo buscamos identificar las categorías que los propios mayas usaron para identificar, describir y valorar moralmente situaciones de crisis, con objeto de comparar los resultados obtenidos del análisis arqueológico y epigráfico con la evidencia emic. Para ello analizaremos las fuentes escritas mayas de época colonial, fundamentalmente textos literarios, históricos y proféticos, donde se describen épocas categorizadas como malas, míseras, de padecimiento o infelices.

This article shows a study carried out at the European University of the Atlantic, Santander. The main goal is to discover the preference for literary and informative texts according to the university degree that students are taking. The sample of the study was of n=193 students from the first year in several degrees from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the Polytechnic University. To analyse it, a questionnaire was designed ad hoc to gather students' opinions regarding their preferences in literary or informative texts, being the scientific text among them. The questionnaire was applied with Google Forms. After a contrast analysis with the H of Kruskal-Wallis test and a post hoc U of Mann-Whitney test, results showed that preferences for science-fiction, romance, tourism and travelling, science, sports/ health, music, classic literature, and poetry had significant differences among the university degrees. Students from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities were the ones with a lower interest in scientific reading and, surprisingly, students from the Psychology degree did not seem to care for health reading. This makes the researches study and contrast the lack of interest of scientific and academic reading with other similar investigations. Finally, we found that students show a similar interest for adventure, mystery, history/ politics, comedy, thrillers, and biographies. According to these results, the main objective was obtained. Consequently, some future lines for research are discussed to help university teachers selecting an appropriate literature regarding students' profile depending on the university degree. Similarly, some research on prereading activities is suggested for those teachers who want to work on scientific or academic literature in the classroom. Este artículo explora la reconfiguración de la memoria del genocidio indígena fueguino (siglos XIX y XX) en la obra de los autores magallánicos Juan Pablo Riveros, Christian Formoso y Pavel Oyarzún. Este proceso se evidencia en la construcción de un texto heterogéneo y mutable de acuerdo al concepto de mutaciones disciplinarias, entendido como un texto en el que se cruzan elementos de otras disciplinas –historiografía, etnología, antropología–. Esta memoria se relaciona con otros acontecimientos traumáticos para la nación chilena como la dictadura militar (1973-1990), articulándose una suerte de convergencia histórica que señala coincidencias en torno a las víctimas, los culpables y los espacios de violencia. ; This article explores the reconfiguration of the memory of the Fueguian indigenous genocide (19th-20th c.) in the literary texts of the magellanic authors Juan Pablo Riveros, Christian Formoso and Pavel Oyarzún. This process is evident in the construction of a mutable and heterogeneous text according to the concept of disciplinary mutations, which is understood as a literary text that draws on elements from other disciplines – historiography, ethnography, anthropology–. This memory is related to other traumatic events for the Chilean nation such as the military dictatorship (1973-1990) pointing out parallels between the victims, the perpetrators, and the spaces of violence.

Reading is defined as the effort to understand a text, and the article tries to describe the moment in which the transit from signifier to signified, i.e. from the blurry glance through the text to the transparency of the exposition, takes place. The awareness of the contents and aesthetic value of the text –or the lucid awareness that we do not understand it– constitutes its reception by the reader. An effort is made to explain the different meanings of the term reception. If the effort here undertaken succeeds in some measure, it should provide a basis for better understanding studies on history, sociology, psychology, and the politics of reading. ; Se define la lectura como esfuerzo por entender un texto y se trata de describir el momento en que se produce el estallido del significado, o sea, el salto del paso opaco por el texto a la transparencia de la exposición. Se procura explicar los diferentes sentidos del término recepción. The present paper, an exploration of how the issue of violence has been present in the Venezuelan literature is made. Violence, in its different types, appears to be linked to the history of Venezuela, his Republican Foundation and its status as a developing country. A multiplicity of literary texts realize the concern of writers to symbolize the reality that violence imposes on the Venezuelan society. Hence, from a "literature of violence" (Araujo, 1968; Liscano, 1995), a relationship between fiction and reality star is created. This "worldview" (Dorfman, 1970) crosses the imaginary on the identity, citizenship and nation. Each epoch produced a literature of violence, this article is addressed, generally four narrative tendencies: the historical violence, political, urban and linked to the "era of Chavez" (Sandoval, 2013). Therefore, violence could function as a stamp or imprint of Venezuelan identity of past and present. ; En el siguiente trabajo se hace una exploración de cómo el tema de la violencia ha estado presente en la literatura venezolana. La violencia, en sus distintas tipologías, pareciera estar ligada a la historia de Venezuela, a su fundación republicana y a su condición de país en desarrollo. Una multiplicidad de textos literarios dan cuenta de la preocupación de los escritores por simbolizar la realidad que la violencia impone a la sociedad venezolana. De allí que, a partir de una "literatura de la violencia" (Araujo, 1968; Liscano, 1995), se crea una relación estrecha entre realidad y ficción. Esta "cosmovisión" (Dorfman, 1970) atraviesa los imaginarios sobre la identidad, la ciudadanía y la nación. Cada época produjo una literatura de la violencia, en este artículo se aborda, de manera general, cuatro tendencias narrativas: la violencia histórica, la política, la urbana y la ligada a la "era de Chávez" (Sandoval, 2013). Por lo tanto, la violencia podría funcionar como una marca o huella de la identidad venezolana del pasado y del presente.

El objetivo de esta introducción es presentar el estado actual de las discusiones sobre los vínculos entre mito, literatura y política en el Egipto Antiguo y de manera sintética explicitar los recorridos previos de la egiptología en el abordaje de estas cuestiones. Para ello se parte de algunas premisas tales como que expresiones sobre lo político puede encontrarse en relatos literarios desde el Reino Medio (1980-1630 a.C.) y que en ese mismo período se reconocen las primeras formulaciones míticas narradas. A partir de ello, se plantean posibles interpretaciones, desarrolladas en los trabajos del dossier, que involucran contenidos de los relatos, en particular la temática de la realeza egipcia. Por otro lado, se consideran en esta introducción los posibles autores y audiencias de los relatos, específicamente si es dable tener en cuenta la sociedad que los produjo, cuestión presente en las investigaciones egiptológicas sobre el tema ; The aim of this introduction is to show the relationships among myth, literature and politics in Ancient Egypt according to current researches and to briefly summarize the previous egyptological studies. A partir de la representación del "delincuente", nuestro trabajo propone crear un diálogo entre texto literario y texto social, que permita establecer los modos como se produce una transición que abarca ambas espacios de la vida nacional, especí camente durante el periodo que va de  nales de los años sesenta a principio de los setenta. Para ello, partimos de las nociones delincuente político y delincuente común, planteadas por Carlos Villalba (1989) y de las propuestas teóricas acerca de políticas del cuerpo, de Michel Foucault (2002), y espacio de excepción, de Giorgio Agamben (2004); esto con el  n de determinar los signos a partir de los cuales se produce esta doble transición. Nuestra lectura se centra en tres de los textos más representativos del sistema literario de la década de los setenta: País portátil (1968), de Adriano González León; Cuando quiero llorar no lloro (1970), de Miguel Otero Silva y Rajatabla (1970), de Luis Britto García, como corpus desde donde se visibilizan los aspectos que caracterizan nuestro trabajo. ; Our point of departure is the "delinquent" and we propose to create a dialogue between the literary text and the social text which will allow us to establish how a transition arises, comprising both spaces of national life, with speci c reference to the period from the end of the sixties to the beginning of the seventies. To this end, we shall apply the notions of political delinquent and common delinquent developed by Carlos Villalba ( 1989 ), Michel Foucault's theories of the politics of the body ( 2002 ) and  nally Giorgio Agamben's theory of the state of exception (2004 ). Our aim in so doing is to identify the signs which lead to the creation of this double transition. Our reading focuses on three of the most representative literary texts of the seventies: País portátil (1968) by Adriano González León, Cuando quiero llorar no lloro ( 1970 ) by Miguel Otero Silva and Rajatabla ( 1970 ) by Luis Britto García.
