The subject of research is the Democratic Party, which was established during the Second Polish Republic. After World War II, it was one of the elements of the Polish party system. The aim of the study is to present the internal and external factors that influenced the political marginalization of SD in the 1990s. Remarks on the subject of the title, which were scattered in various publications by the author, were collected and re-interpreted. The crisis of the leadership in the party, lack of consistency in the actions taken, liquidation of press resources, conflicts in the relations between the SD leadership and field instances, the outflow of members, disintegration of committees and circles, poor knowledge of democratic principles, inability to prepare an attractive program offer, frequent changes of party leaders – this is the most important internal causes that determined the political marginalization of the SD. External considerations were also important here. First of all, functioning in the conditions of the hegemonic party system was not conducive to organizational, personnel and program development, which had to cause various deformations. After 1989, in the conditions of the free formation of the party system, the new groups accused the SD of cooperation with the Polish United Workers' Party and legitimizing the political system of the People's Republic of Poland; voters also remembered it. All political activities undertaken by this party under such conditions ended in failure and exacerbated the internal crisis. XX wieku. Zebrano w jedną całość i uzupełniono rozproszone w różnych opracowaniach autora uwagi dotyczące tytułowej problematyki oraz dokonano ponownej interpretacji. Kryzys przywództwa w partii, brak konsekwencji w podejmowanych działaniach, likwidacja zasobów prasowych, konflikty w relacjach kierownictwa SD z instancjami terenowymi, odpływ członków, rozpad komitetów i kół, słaba znajomość zasad demokracji, niezdolność do przygotowania atrakcyjnej oferty programowej, częste zmiany partyjnych liderów – to najważniejsze przyczyny wewnętrzne, które przesądziły o marginalizacji politycznej SD.

In the period 2008–2011, twelve parliamentary elections were held in eight Central and East European states. Their results demonstrated the decreasing importance of green parties on the political stage in this part of Europe. The author of this paper tries to translate the concept developed by Allan Sikk and Rune Holmgaard Andersen, concerning the evolution of Estonian green parties, to party systems in CEE states. The paper also discusses the evolution of the status of green parties and their probable placement in party systems following the nearest parliamentary elections. ; In the period 2008–2011, twelve parliamentary elections were held in eight Central and East European states. The article links the prospect of theoretical research on the culture of the unemployed with the achievements of French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu, including the theory of fields (le champ), which is one of the key categories of his theory. A reflexive analysis of P. Bourdieu's theoretical concepts is helpful to explain the reasons for marginalization and exclusion on the example of long-term unemployment. Theoretical analysis showed that the reasons for marginalization lie not only in the entities subject to marginalization, but also are conditioned by general social changes, the social structure of a given country. Bourdieu's analyses are a good basis for programming public policy, the aim of which is to limit the social and economic effects of permanent unemployment.
The main aim of the article is to present and analyze the evolution of Greek policy towards the Balkans from the end of the Cold War to the present day. The article uses the chronological-descriptive method and a case study. The article indicates that initially Greek policy in the region was reactive, conservative, nationalist, and based on cooperation with the Serbian government of Milosevich, which led to the marginalization of its importance in the Balkans. Only the Europeanization of Greek politics and the reliance on Euro- Atlantic structures strengthens Athens' position among its Balkan neighbors. Undoubtedly, the financial crisis hampered the effectiveness of Greece's Balkan policy, which is currently ambitiously rebuilding its image as an advocate of the Balkan states in the EU and NATO.
The aim of this article is to try to reconstruct the potential changes to the electoral system to the Sejm and the Senate resulting from the announcements of the politicians of the Law and Justice party, as well as to indicate the impact of such changes on the election results based on the data from the 2019 elections. These studies indicate that such changes would lead to a significant strengthening of the party with the largest number of votes, in fact leading to the marginalization of the smallest parliamentary parties. As a result, there would be a far-reaching disproportionality of the choices and a violation of the material aspect of the principle of equality. In addition, an artificial majority would be created that could, under certain circumstances, constitute a constitutional majority despite relatively low public support.
Adolescence is the most complicated period during the human being life. At that time, the physiological, social and emotional processes of maturation occur. Shortly speaking, the entire human personality is being formed. Moreover, in that period a young person is prone to all kinds of influences, especially the peer group. To impress and win its recognition sometimes they intend to hurt other students physically and mentally - it is bullying. Experiencing this phenomenon in the school demonstrates the growing discomfort of the young generation. Analysis of the school reality allows looking closer at the connections existing between the crisis of adolescence and youth in this form of violence. In Western literature, this phenomenon is often associated with the term "disagio" psycho-physical condition closely related to the crisis of the adolescence period. Reasons of this state should be traced, for example in the deprivation of access to culture, socio-economic marginalization, and family and interpersonal problems. All of it makes it impossible or difficult to meet important needs for the individual that may determine the development of chronic disagio and deviant behavior, even in school.
The aim of the author is to present the possible consequences of any further intensification of the global problems which the European Union will have to stand up to, to a larger degree than before. Globalization has not created global problems, but it has contributed to their intensification. There are four groups of global issues that are of particular significance to globalization processes: (1) international security, (2) ecology, (3) demography, and (4) poverty and marginalization. Undoubtedly, the European Union is a 'privileged' region as it comprises safe states. Europe and the United States perceive the prevention of threats to be a common interest, which justifies the claim that the two partners are at least partially chained to each other. However, Europe is vulnerable to the consequences of global threats. In future, poor countries will blame developed countries for their problems, including those related to their natural environment. Adverse demographic trends will result in the European population growing older and there will be a decrease in the numbers of native Europeans. International relations may be destabilized in the long-term by the widening gap between the developed countries and developing ones, and by their feelings of being excluded from globalization processes. An alternative to this scenario could be provided by cohesive and active global policies on the part of the EU, however, it cannot change the adverse consequences of modern global trends by itself.

The article addresses the problem of shaping the centuries-long relationship between Polish people and Ukrainians from Galicia, and discusses the factors influencing the process of shaping the national identity of the inhabitants of Lvov. The publication underlines the historical and ethnic backgrounds influencing the people living in Lvov region and in Lvov itself. The article also refers to the issue of identifying Lvov residents as Europeans. The author of the article also highlighted obstacles preventing the creation of solid foundation between the inhabitants of Lvov to build a common regional identity despite centuries of co-existence. The destabilizing elements were primarily claims to the same territory. Despite the complicated history, there is one common feature of the Lvov residents which has been preserved – as the author of the article points out – namely, their European identity. This belief has risen to the rank of myth. The article has made a synthetic analysis of the mutual relationship between Polish people and Ukrainians from the 15th century up to the present day, taking into account the influence of elements of collective memory. The current relations between the two nations are relatively well formed. After joining the EU, Poland acts as a Ukrainian supporter, regularly defending its interests. This, as well as the Orange Revolution, Euro 2012 and the Revolution of Dignity contributed to the untightened relations between these two nations. However, despite these positive actions in common relations, the attitude of a decisive part of the intellectual elite of modern Lvov residents is more and more influenced by the mythology of the multiculturalism of this city and its membership "ever since" to Europe, with the dominant Ukrainian language, and simultaneous marginalization of thousand years of belonging to the Polish state, which in effect creates a fake image of the city and its inhabitants.
The increasing popularity of programs promoting aktywność (activity) in old age in contemporary Poland is part of regional and global attempts to encourage health and economic productivity in old age. In order to understand this interest in aktywność in old age, such practices must be seen within broader sociocultural and political-economic contexts. This drive for aktywność cannot be fully explained without understanding its status as an unquestioned moral good in opposition to illness, disability, and frailty in old age. Seeking commonalities across such seemingly opposite experiences can reduce marginalization in old age. Side-stepping binary constructions of health and illness in old age creates a more holistic perspective that demonstrates how older Poles in a range of contexts create moral lives. ; Rosnąca w Polsce popularność i szerzenie się programów promujących aktywną starość stanowi część lokalnych i globalnych działań na rzecz utrzymania zdrowia i produktywności ekonomicznej starszych osób. Aby lepiej zrozumieć zainteresowanie aktywnością w starszym wieku, należy rozpatrywać te praktyki w szerszym społeczno-kulturowym i polityczno-ekonomicznym kontekście.
Przyszłość Iraku i Syrii zależy w dużej mierze od woli czynnika zewnętrznego, czyli woli politycznej wielkich mocarstw – uwarunkowanej ich interesami ; Post-conflict reconstruction means strengthening state structures in cooperation with the legitimate authorities of that state or building these structures anew in the case of the so-called failed state. The reconstruction of Iraq after 2003 can be seen in both of the above situations and the desired scenario is quite clear and "straight" – stabilization is connected with the need to guarantee equal rights for Sunni and Shia and satisfy the national aspirations of the Kurds. Syria, on the other hand, remains a serious challenge to the theoretical considerations of the reconstruction because it is not a failed state, but its authorities are not treated as unambiguously legitimate by the international community. The reconstruction of Syria means, above all, the necessity of providing the population with basic needs. The change of the political regime from authoritarian to democratic is very desirable, but the example of violent de-baathification in Iraq demonstrates that such a step may result in the marginalization of the Alawits and thus, another conflict. The future of Iraq and Syria depends to a large extent on the will of the external factor, that is, the political will of the great powers conditioned by their interests.

The study, based on publications and online CSO resources, attempts to analyze the current demographic structure, and selected labor market elements characteristic for a separate, closed area known as Polish and Eastern Europe. It is composed of five provinces, four of them: Lubelszczyzna, Podlasie, Subcarpathian and Świetokrzyskie administratively belonging to the Eastern Region and the fifth one - Warmia and Mazury, which is an administrative unit of the Northern Region. These regions constituting a third of the country's area, and being home to the fifth part of the whole Polish population, are among the most marginalized areas of the country in terms of spatial, economic and social aspects. The analysis found that during the observation period, the Polish eastern provinces, both the availability of space and the structure of the population by age (inter alia resulting in the highest demographic dependency ratio in the country), as well as the employment structure (high share of employed in the agriculture, low share of those employed in services), or both unemployment rates, do not present an optimistic outlook. They all constitute a considerable threat to the state's regional policy guidelines, all in favor of a trade-promotion polarization and diffusion model, favoring the so-called 'locomotives of growth', the richest provinces, which means further marginalization of the most vulnerable regions. ; Przedmiotem opracowania, opartego na publikacjach i zasobach internetowych GUS, jest analiza aktualnej struktury demograficznej i wybranych elementów rynku pracy charakteryzujących wyodrębniony, zwarty obszar określany mianem Polski Wschodniej. W jego skład wchodzi pięć województw, cztery: lubelskie, podlaskie, podkarpackie i świętokrzyskie należące administracyjnie do Regionu Wschodniego i piąte warmińsko-mazurskie, będące jednostką administracyjną Regionu Północnego.
The article discusses issues of the evolution of agrarian groups in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. These parties played a significant role on the political scene in interwar Europe. The subject of political analysis was Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and two post-Yugoslavian states – Slovenia and Croatia. The references also include the casus of Polish agrarian groups. These parties played a significant role on the political scene in interwar Europe. On the one hand, they expressed the socio-economic and political interests of the rural population, and in the region in question they constituted a significant part of society. On the other – they were an important element of party systems, participating in subsequent local and parliamentary elections and creating government cabinets. Modernization, political and socio-economic changes after 1945, changed the significance of agrarian groups. After the communist regime gained power in these countries, agrarian groups were treated as the most serious rival. As a result, independent people's groups were banned and their leaders – St. Mikołajczyk in Poland – he had to flee the country for fear of arrest, and others – I. Maniu in Romania or N. Petkow in Bulgaria were arrested and convicted in rigged trials. The situation of agrarian groups was formed in two models – satellite agrarian groups centered around the communist monopartite (Poland, Bulgaria) or agrarian groups (Hungary, Romania) were banned. Their activity was continued by some activists in exile. After democratic changes in 1989, it was possible for these groups to resume legal activity. The article discusses various scenarios of organizational and, to a lesser extent, program changes. People's parties competed for seats in local and parliamentary elections under "their own banner" (Poland, Hungary, Slovenia), or chose a strategy to build a broader parliamentary coalition – the case of the Democratic Convention of Romania or the party in Croatia. It is also worth mentioning the unification and disintegration processes in the groupings in question, which resulted in the progressive marginalization of the agrarian movement on political stages. Modernization, political and socio-economic changes after 1945 changed the significance of agrarian groups. ; Artykuł omawia kwestie ewolucji ugrupowań agrarnych w państwach Europy Środkowej i Wschodniej.
