The current degree of politicization & civil military conflict is argued to be nearly unprecedented in Venezuela's recent democratic history. The expansion of the role of Venezuelan Armed Forces since the election of Chavez suggests that civilian control in Venezuela has been eliminated, & has produced critiques of the danger of expanding military role at the same time as dismantling institutional mechanisms of civilian control. The civil and military institutions of the Fourth & Fifth Republics are described as a settling into a dysfunctional though stable pattern in the 1980s that was transformed by Chavez's attempt to control Armed Forces personally by manipulating assignments & promotions. The civilians faced a divided yet politically significant military that demonstrated a high tolerance for government quasi-repressive activities, as exemplified in the use of armed forces in internal security roles during the 63 days of a general strike in December 2002. A broad expansion of the military's participation in government policymaking & implementation, combined with the elimination of institutions of containment & oversight, indicates that Venezuela's institutions of civilian control have unraveled. The reorientation of security forces toward internal roles & missions has been a leading indicator of civil military conflict & authoritarian rules in many states. The Venezuelan Armed Forces are predicted to remain at the center of a tug-of-war between the opposition and send government, and thus will continue to hatch pro-& anti- Chavez conspiracies, resulting in highly politicized & less professional Armed Forces, & a headache for future administrations. The traditional Balinese architecture principles have been marginalized and are not following Bali Province Regulation No. 5 of 2005 concerning Building Architecture Requirements. In this study using qualitative analysis with a critical approach or critical/emancipatory knowledge with critical discourse analysis. By using the theory of structure, the theory of power relations of knowledge and the theory of deconstruction, the marginalization of traditional Balinese architecture principles in hotel buildings in Kuta Badung Regency is caused by factors of modernization, rational choice, technology, actor morality, identity, and weak enforcement of the rule of law. The process of marginalization of traditional Balinese architecture principles in hotel buildings in Kuta Badung regency through capital, knowledge-power relations, agency structural action, and political power. The implications of the marginalization of traditional Balinese architecture principles in hotel buildings in Kuta Badung Regency have implications for the development of tourism, professional ethics, city image, economy, and culture of the community as well as for the preservation of traditional Balinese architecture.

AbstractAnalysing the social situation of hyperghettos in Chicago and the banlieues in Paris, Loïc Wacquant goes far beyond the empirical comparison by detecting the underlying logics of social polarization. Thus, he contends that each society produces its own social inequalities through its respective power relations and that place matters for social exclusion processes. This fact, however, should not be analysed simply by structural factors. Therefore, a theory of space is needed by which it is possible to explain the inner logics of socio‐spatial exclusion. Following the theory of the self‐recruiting of the upper classes by Pierre Bourdieu (the structure–habitus–practise reproduction formula) this theory has to connect the macro level (market economy, neoliberal regulation, the production of images, goals and attitudes towards social justice, etc.) which explains the logics of regulation and class composition, the meso level (territories and places with their own logics, social structures and social relations in networks — bridging or bonding) and the micro level (with its subjective constructions of realities and everyday behaviour).

This chapter is a contribution to the ongoing debate about Africa and globalization and the interrelated issues of capitalism, marginalization, representation, and political leadership. Problematizing the discourse of Africa as "diseased" and "hapless," the World Bank's structural adjustment "cure-all" is presented as being much worse than the "disease" that preceded it. Proposing a critical ethics of globalization—which highlights the gap between globalizations's miraculous, self-reflective images and the miserable conditions it creates—there is an attempt to uncover agents of change on the African continent. Social movements such as those fighting for water and electricity in Soweto, for land in Kenya, or against environmental destruction by oil companies in the Niger delta raise questions about the viability of globalization. Often led by women, these movements not only challenge the "male deal" that defines national governments and multinational corporations, but also call for a revaluation of subsistence economies and local democratic polities as alternatives to globalization. In short, this chapter offers important conceptual, as well as practical, challenges to globalization, indeed to the very nature of politics itself.

Marginalization is a social process by which a person or a group of people are made marginal or become relegated to the fringe or edge of society. It mostly occurs to a group of people sharing common features like race, sex or age Economic, cultural, social and political factors work together to make certain groups in society feel marginalized. Multiculturalism claims that women should have the same rights and the opportunities as men. The women like Akueke, has no free will to choose her life- partner. In Girls at War, the story is based on the Nigerian- Biafran civil war. It highlights how women rejecting the monopoly of men participated in the war. At the end of story, Gladys risks her life as she tries to save the maimed soldier in the bombing raid, she gets caught by the explosions during her attempt to save the maimed and dies.
