The article considers the issues of modern German political philosophy in accordance with its formation, institutionalization and development. Germany's political philosophy is analyzed in terms of its interaction with social and practical philosophy. The text states that political philoso- phy belongs to both social philosophy and political science. As a political theory, it is a compo- nent of social theories institutionalized in the modern era. As a political philosophy, it appears as a metatheory of political theory. Political philosophy is also part of practical philosophy, exploring the problems of interaction between ethics and politics and the moral reclamation of the political system of modern society. These issues are themed in the context of the institution- alization of this discipline in the early twentieth century, its transformation into a political reli- gion during National Socialism, the revival after World War II, as well as actualization in such areas of socio-humanitarian sciences as discourse philosophy, functional-system theory of so- ciety, etc. according to the political situation of modern Germany.
Political philosophy, that rather disreputable, not very philosophical branch of philosophy, has always wanted to get out of politics, to put an end to this politics of politics, by finally speaking its truth. Ideally, the fond -est desire may be to find or invent a politics unaffected by the politics of politics (a truly moral politics, perhaps, of the kind Kant seems to encourage), but that desire is metaphysical through and through. So-called "cheap politics" is engaged in the politics of politics as soon as that phenomenon is engaged in politics, i.e. from the very first, "naturally" as Aristotle put it. The logos of politics is irreducibly affected by the kind of distortion and deceit that is usually – moralistically – associated with rhetoric or sophistry, with "spin tactics". Politics is always already the politics of politics.Key words: politics of politics, sophistry, spin tactics, rhetorical figure, politics of truth. ; Political philosophy, that rather disreputable, not very philosophical branch of philosophy, has always wanted to get out of politics, to put an end to this politics of politics, by finally speaking its truth. Two different approaches to the problem of social contract represented in modern philosophy are being investigated in this article. First approach based on theory of mutual advantage and rooted from Hobbes philosophy. Second approach based on fundamental moral intuition of equal respect to each person as moral entity and connected with tradition of moral philosophy rooted from Kant. The influence of this tradition was increased after "The Theory of Justice" by Jon Rawls was published. In this work post-metaphysical version of Kantian procedure universalism was developed. From Kantian point of view understanding of social contract as mutual advantage based on extra-moral ground hence it is beyond normative political philosophy and philosophy of law. The author argues that both directions of contractarianism reveal the similarity in using definite type of moral argumentation. The last one is connected with specific morality of law which starts from priority of the rights under obligations. This morality based on ontological understanding of human being as fundamental indefinite, so be able to bear threat. ; ***
This article deals with review of the Kant's deontological ethics for the purpose of clarification of the nature, essence and typology of moral duties. Topicality this sort of research is due to the need to clearly define the limits of morally permissible actions and morally forbidden in the modern world (violence, abortion, euthanasia, war etc.). The author this article finds out the reasons of appearance of rational concept of deontological ethics, which were caused by the need to preserve the moral imperatives without relying on the authority of God.Special consideration is given to the content of the moral obligations in Kant's moral philosophy, be placed emphases on the typology of moral duties (duties towards themselves – obligatory end of self-improvement and duty towards others – obligatory end of promotion others` happiness; perfect and imperfect duties; positive moral requirements and negative demands - prohibitions). Thus, a positive requirements of self-improvement, truthfulness, honesty, respect, benevolence, gratitude, compassion, sympathy, care, and negative demands - prohibitions against lying, cunning, treachery, falsification, avarice, servility, envy, slander, contempt of others, bullying etc. join to a system of moral duties, with different degrees of their implementation. Negative moral requirements must be strictly enforced, realize in a perfect acting. Positive demands presuppose an area of freedom, and therefore they implement in imperfect deeds. Accordingly, priority is given to duties towards others and the negative moral requirements.Although Kant's moral philosophy was subjected to criticism for formalities, absence substantial criterion, rigorism and unpracticality, deontological ethics demonstrate now its practicality in helping the person to do right deed, to set right priorities in the realization of moral duties. The potential of the Kantian ethics of duty can be disclosed to use typologies moral obligatory in making of different ethical codes of professional conduct (in medicine, business and politics, engineering, science, education). Kant's typology of duties continued its develop in XX century in contemporary theories of Doing and Allowing Harm, in the Doctrine of Double Effect. Philosophy of education functions as systematic socio-cultural phenomenon combining methodology, science, values, national/European/world pedagogical traditions. Philosophy of education is characterized by complex of theories (ideas), scientific, cultural, values, moral and ethical principles determining not only the meaning / content of education and training, but also a certain type of personality. Worldview-philosophical analysis emphasizes the planetary-cosmic dimension of human existence and the planetary-cosmic personality type (anthropic principle; man-microcosm as a reflection of the macrocosm-universe). World relations in the coordinates of culture, man-made (western) and traditionalist (eastern), identifies personality types: individualistic (West), collectivist (East). The article reveals the compatibility of ideas, theories, approaches (philosophical anthropology and ontology, subjective, cultural, comparative, communicative, praxeological), according to the priorities of the post-neoclassical. On this basis, the expediency of the theoretical and methodological tools of the philosophy of education as a synergistic of interaction of basic life-value concepts (man-science-culture-art-style of thinking) and goal-setting - the formation of the subject of culture. The subject of culture is formed in certain society (pluralism of political, economic, legal, educational, religious systems), environment of immanent values, moral and ethical precepts, customs, beliefs, spiritual traditions. The spiritual and value bases of the existence of the European person as a subject of culture determine the space of the Judeo-Christian tradition and technogenic (Western) civilization. For a person as a subject of culture of the eastern (traditionalist) area, the spiritual and value basis is Confucianism and Taoism (China), Confucianism and Buddhism (Japan). The activity of the subject of culture in particular is realized in planetary space. Comparative analysis of West-East communication actualizes trans-scientific intentions of philosophy of education. The praxeological directions of strategic social changes in Ukraine are singled out: fundamental turn to science and education; modernization of science-intensive technical-technological-production processes; financing of innovations (investments, business) at the level of leading universities.
Explore the major ideological patterns of development of a socially philosophies of education in the context of the problems of institutionalization of knowledge about human and social development. To analyse system-integration aspect of social philosophy and education management in interaction with model of «new humanism» in formation of socially valuable orientations. Classification existing in the western philosophy of education and education of directions is spent, proceeding from basic principles of philosophical school or a current, first of all considering those the purpose and means which are really involved by them in process of education, social development and socially-moral education and being based on the basic installations, the purpose expressed by that or other direction, how its supporters imagine the person, its requirement, a social role, behaviour which the education system and education urged to form. Considering growing requirement of a practical embodiment of ideas of freedom, justice, aspiration to realisation of the human rights proclaimed a society, supporters of the concept of «new humanism» see the main objective in blocking a way to conformism, to a manipulation behaviour of the person and to create conditions for its free self-expression, for realisation by the person of a fundamental choice of acts in a concrete situation and by that to warn danger of formation of the unified form of behaviour. In it principles of «new humanism» approach with a position of instrumentalism and neopragmatism. Before social philosophy of education/upbringing it is necessary to define a problem factors which cause achievement of its main objective, to state an estimation to moral principles and personal qualities with which actually the education/education theory connects realisation of the problems, to show, why these, instead of any any other principles and qualities open to the person possibility to choose in a concrete situation socially powerful both morally defensible and comprehensible line of conduct in public the relation. Statement of a question on necessity of the philosophical analysis of problems of education and education in a social context serves as an indicator of understanding philosophers, teachers of an increasing role of the human and moral factor in society development. And, at last, the aspiration to develop socially-philosophical bases of pedagogics in general and education in particular, testifies that the western and domestic philosophers, teachers, representatives of social and psychological sciences, at least, the majority of them, have realised the public importance of an education system and education, its global character. ; Modern political philosophy of analytical direction demonstrates the existence of a wide range of trends, conceptual approaches and specific theories that address a variety of issues in the political life of society. All these problems ultimately come down to the problem of the public good—what it is and how it is possible (if at all possible) to achieve. The public good should be understood here very broadly, not as a set of some specific material or spiritual goods, but as what Aristotle called the "good life", for which people, in fact, unite in society and which provides a higher degree of individual and social perfection (first of all, moral). Given that the achievement of the public good is possible only if society is based on the idea of justice, one of the central tasks of political philosophy is the theoretical explication of this idea —to explain what it should be and how society and the state can and must meet it. This idea is fundamental to other social values, the most important of which found expression in the famous slogan of the French Revolution: "Freedom, equality, brotherhood!". Depending on the value accepted as decisive for solving the problem of justice, we can distinguish four main directions of modern analytical political philosophy: utilitarianism (utility), liberalism (freedom), egalitarianism (equality), communitarianism (comunity). According to utilitarianism, the basis of justice, as well as any other concepts of moral and political philosophy, is the principle of usefulness. Socio-political conceptions of the liberal type accept freedom as the main political value. Theories of egalitarianism differ from each other depending on the concept of equality they adopt. According to the communitarian conception, the center of political and philosophical consideration in general and the concept of social justice in particular should deal not with particular individuals, but with communities and society in general.
In this article the author studies the place and the role of social philosophy in the architecture of the social sciences and humanities. The article focuses on the relationship between social philosophy, theory of society, theoretical sociology and social ethics. Based upon the application of the concept of paradigm in philosophy, the author shows key trends of the development of social sciences and humanities: the turn from the philosophy of conscience to the communication philosophy and the "rehabilitation of the practical philosophy". In line with these trends, practical discourse philosophy is now playing the central role in the structure of the social sciences and humanities, the author says. By making a distinction between normative and descriptive dimensions of the so- cial sciences and humanities, the author emphasizes the issue of their normative foundation and their moral and ethical re-orientation. The article analyzes discourse as an argumentative practice of founding social norms and values and as a meta-institution legitimizing social institutions. According to this approach, the social philosophy is considered as a meta-theory of social sciences, which include general social theory and theories of social systems. In this context, practical dis- course philosophy is playing a fundamental role for legitimizing specific social institutions. Social ethics also plays an important role, as it complements individual ethics, creating a system of insti- tutional ethics, i.e. of political ethics, economic ethics, ethics of science and technology, environ- mental ethics. In this architectonics, social responsibility gets a new meaning, incorporating indi- vidual responsibility. Social responsibility is not an anonymous responsibility that neglects the in- dividual responsibility, but a common responsibility implemented according to certain rules and procedures and creating the possibility to solve current problems of the globalized humanity.
The article is devoted to consideration of the basic elements of Theodor Adorno's Philosophy of Education. The author analyzes the philosopher's critical attitude to "semi-education" as a cultural product of mass industrial civilization. This civilization ideologically influenced on individual and collective consciousness of the Europeans and totally subjected them to its power. The result of this influence was spread semi-education among the Europeans which have been alienated from interest in gaining knowledge. It has negatively influenced on the dynamics of sociocultural changes in European societies. Adorno in his philosophy of education pays attention to spiritual meaning of natural human interest to something unknown. He defines this irrational factor as primary anthropological condition of the intellectual formation of a new individual as a moral personality oriented on a new sociocultural becoming. Adorno considers that the sociocultural transformations are possible only on the base of the real democratization of European societies.
The article presents the postanarchist conceptualization of radical politics. The methodology of this study was a critical analysis and use of historical and philosophical methods, the method of contextualism, the method of discursive analysis. In connection with the intensification of protest movements, including those aimed at combating the omnipotence of the state, the spread of the ideology of anti-globalization is growing theoretical interest in anarchism. Anarchism today is not the only political doctrine. This is a large family of like-minded people, united by hostility to uncontrolled power, distrust of the hierarchy and optimistic belief in the ability of ordinary people to control their lives and organize social relations on the basis of freedom, equality and solidarity. In the framework of the announced "anarchist turn", anarchism is manifested as the basis of radical policy in recent times. The theoretical foundations of modern anarchism remain poorly understood. Modern political radicalism is based on acertain philosophy, which in a new way substantiates the ideas and actions in the socio-political sphere, aimed at radical change of existing social institutions. This is a philosophy of action, struggle, protest. Postanarchism is seen as a new view of radical politics. The features of philosophical essentialism as thebasis of conceptual modeling in classical anarchism are formulated. Postanarchism is presented as aphilosophy that avoids essentialism, its tools are analyzed. The connection between the left movement of the 1960s and modern post-capitalist movements is analyzed. Political theory here is further developed, ceases to be abstract, filled with human meaning. Within the framework of the "anarchist turn" there is agradual destruction of the main stereotypes or narratives about anarchism (about its theoretical insolvency, unscientificity, utopianism) formed over many years in literature and public opinion. It is proved that the theory of anarchism is constantly evolving and updated over time in order to find solutions to acute social, political and economic problems. The author sees the prospects of post-anarchism in its political philosophy, which has certain values. In the modern era, such aphilosophy was supplanted by positivist political science in theory and for the triumph of moral nihilism and relativism in practice. The obtained results allow us to find out what distinguishes modern anarchism as a movement and philosophy from the left movements of the past and the features of the theoretical language of description of the modern protest movement.
The article examines the problems of philosophy development in Ukraine during the thirty years of independence; an attempt is made to periodize this development. It is shown that the independence of Ukraine, in addition to the state, political and economic dimensions, also contains a spiritual component associated with religious, cultural, linguistic, and ideo- logical independence. The key here was independence from the Moscow Church and cre- ating an autocephalous Orthodox Church in Ukraine. Nevertheless, since, according to the Constitution of Ukraine, no ideology can be recognized by the state as mandatory, spiritual independence is also a secular category and presupposes worldview and philosophical inde- pendence. The article highlights several stages of the creation of philosophical independ- ence. First, the first stage required overcoming the ideologically biased philosophy of Rus- sian Marxism, that is, Marxism-Leninism. The second stage is the involvement of Ukrainian philosophy in the models of modern world philosophy, the assimilation of its leading trends and paradigmatic complexes. The role of translations of philosophical classics and modern philosophical literature in entering philosophy into world philosophical thought in Ukraine is also shown. Finally, the third stage is related to solving the critical problems of our time, related to globalization, ecological crisis, universalism and particularism in ethics, ethical reclamation of modern society, etc. The article also deals with the role of philosophy and philosophical education in substantiating the value orientations of the development of Uk- rainian society, the formation of communicative, moral, professional competencies of citi- zens as a factor in the civilizational choice of Ukraine.
Introduction. The anthropic principle is one of the principles of modern cosmology around which, from the last decades of the XXth century and so far, constantly occur ideological discussions, not only scientific, but also philosophical. Aim and tasks: The paper studies metaphysical aspects of cosmological and philosophical discussions over the Cosmos understanding as a "human-sized" world system in the context of "strong" anthropic principle. The author, besides, draws on the theoretical views of the philosophers of Russian cosmism, namely V. Vernadsky, K. Tsiolkovsky, A. Chizhevsky. Tasks: to analyze philosophical-ontological and moral-ethical aspects of the role of man and consciousness in the development of matter. Research methods: Philosophical analysis is carried out on the basis of the materialist approach and the principles of dialectics. The procedure of critical comprehension of the given concepts and estimations is applied. Results. The expediency in the anthropic picture of the world is argued not to be correlated with the anthropocentrism and idealistic teleology. At the same time, the naturalism views of evolutionists over the essence of consciousness and man is criticized. The author does not agree with the reducing of consciousness to the cerebral material activity, on the one hand, and of the consciousness hypostatization, its ontologization, on the other. Also grounds that the essence of intelligent life is based on purposeful character of activity and on freedom from natural determinism in its development. Moral and ethical imperatives of human activity in its earthly and cosmic purpose are analyzed as well. Discussion. The author believes that the development of an anthropic picture of the world drives science to the adoption of humanitarian concepts. The human life is determined not only in scientific and technical activity, but also in a moral along broad sense. The development of science and technology within of immoral social and political landmarks of a person can ruinously affect both ...
The article considers the interpretation features of category "justice", by the Roman lawyer and political leader Marcus Tullius Cicero, based on the analysis of his works "On the State" and "On the Laws". The author proves, that Cicero, keeping the line of Plato and Aristotle, who were the spokesmen of city-state, acts from humanistic and universal positions. This fact allows us to speak about him as about a theorist of cosmopolitan justice.Political justice, theoretically expressed in "consensus of status" principle and practically embodied in the model of mixed government, according to Cicero, as well as before in Aristotle's philosophy, did became the result of appeasement of the Roman society but not of abstract outlook and the way of solving problems of practical policy. Ideological basis of justice, which realized in moderately conservative position of Cicero himself, is obvious. The other and no less important aspect of political justice according to Cicero is the law, and to be more exact "the natural" law (as he follows his predecessors). Cicero understand it as a certain moral and ethical substance of civil law and civil community itself. As a whole the natural law doctrine of Cicero, which includes the principles of a global community of people and gods, general ethical (and legal) equality, natural love for people and moral obligation as the basis of law, presents a classic model of the concept of justice based on humanistic ideals.
