In the Philosophy of Right Hegel argues that modern life has produced an individualized freedom that conflicts with the communal forms of life constitutive of Greek ethical life. This individualized freedom is fundamentally unsatisfactory, but it is in modernity seemingly resolved into a more adequate form of social freedom in the family, aspects of civil society, and ultimately the state. This article examines whether Hegel's state can function as a community and by so doing satisfy the need for a substantial ethical life that runs through Hegel's social thought. The article also examines why Hegel does not provide a detailed analysis of community, as a distinct sphere between the private and the public political sphere in the Philosophy of Right, and why it is not a key platform of his social freedom.
; In this thesis I set out to answer the question: what are the implications of Wittgenstein's philosophy for social philosophy? The thesis is divided into three parts. In the first part I discuss the nature of Wittgenstein's philosophy and of the social sciences. I conclude that Wittgenstein's philosophy involved grammatical investigations aimed at dissolving philosophical problems. Philosophy, on Wittgenstein's view enriches or broadens our understanding rather than adding to our stock of knowledge, as social sciences do. In the second part I look at Wittgenstein's relation to ideology: to conservatism, liberalism, and socialism. I argue that Wittgenstein was not a conservative but nor was he a liberal or a socialist. In the final part of the thesis I look at Wittgenstein's value in helping to dissolve problems in social and political philosophy. I conclude that Wittgenstein's philosophy has some negative implications for social and political philosophy. It dissolves philosophical confusions and knocks down houses of cards. But his philosophy also has positive implications. Wittgenstein's philosophy enriches our understanding of social and political issues and can be of great benefit within social and political epistemology.
The paper is devoted to examine theanalytictools for understanding the social andcultural processes. To analyze the influence ofthe social and cultural environment on somefixed economic, administrative, statebuilding, educational, informational and communicativeprocess the notion of the matrix effect is introduced. It is defined as «imprinting», when thewell-known political, civil, economic, educationaland other institutions under the influence of introduced form outside obtaina certain form. Three types of the matrix effect (the family pattern, the shippattern, and the sport pattern) were depicted as they represent the most commonpatterns of the social organization. The matrix is perceived not only as a form, but also as a pattern of certain kind of mass activity, and the symbol of existinginstitutions on individual daily level. The methodological possibilities of specificmatrix mode of the social philosophy researches are examined. A necessity toutilize the matrix effect for describing the multidimensional phenomena such associety was highlighted.
In this article the author studies the place and the role of social philosophy in the architecture of the social sciences and humanities. The article focuses on the relationship between social philosophy, theory of society, theoretical sociology and social ethics. Based upon the application of the concept of paradigm in philosophy, the author shows key trends of the development of social sciences and humanities: the turn from the philosophy of conscience to the communication philosophy and the "rehabilitation of the practical philosophy". In line with these trends, practical discourse philosophy is now playing the central role in the structure of the social sciences and humanities, the author says. By making a distinction between normative and descriptive dimensions of the so- cial sciences and humanities, the author emphasizes the issue of their normative foundation and their moral and ethical re-orientation. The article analyzes discourse as an argumentative practice of founding social norms and values and as a meta-institution legitimizing social institutions. According to this approach, the social philosophy is considered as a meta-theory of social sciences, which include general social theory and theories of social systems. In this context, practical dis- course philosophy is playing a fundamental role for legitimizing specific social institutions. Social ethics also plays an important role, as it complements individual ethics, creating a system of insti- tutional ethics, i.e. of political ethics, economic ethics, ethics of science and technology, environ- mental ethics. In this architectonics, social responsibility gets a new meaning, incorporating indi- vidual responsibility. Social responsibility is not an anonymous responsibility that neglects the in- dividual responsibility, but a common responsibility implemented according to certain rules and procedures and creating the possibility to solve current problems of the globalized humanity.
Social philosophy has a future independent of normative philosophy, which could eventually lead to the pretense of a weak and formal anthropology. Basedon recognition theory and given that current social philosophy has a historical basis, together with the stated anthropological dimension it will ensure its survival in the future. This article is divided into three parts: I) History of social philosophy; over the last two hundred years, philosophy has undergone a process of differentiation that has resulted in the creation of several sub-disciplines. For this reason, although the classical tripartition (theoretical philosophy, practical philosophy and aesthetic philosophy) subsists, in practice, other divisions have arisen that hardly fit the aforementioned scheme; II) an analysis of social pathologies, which implies that it should no longer be the State, but Society that slowly separates from it. This is how social philosophy emerges, as an ethical perspective, used to study social pathologies, which provoke social struggles that seek recognition and emancipation; III) potentialities of said discipline for the future. What should be assumed as "normal" about a social way of life that enables emancipation would be validated to the extent that the members of society itself come to a consensus on the desire to assume social development through democratic organization.

Abstract: This paper argues for an interdisciplinary interlocution between social theory and social philosophy in order to recast the problem of normativity in social practices, especially within Brazil's democratic ethos. By resorting to insights from critical theory and social epistemology, the essay proposes to reexamine Bourdieu's conception of habitus so as to contribute to a moderate social constructionism that cannot be reduced to a postmodernist discourse or to a variant of relativism.
