; The most far-reaching and exhaustive trend in Swedish social work over the last thirty years is functional specialisation, representing a route away from the notion of professional unity and genericism. This is a development that has gained ground incrementally without any active lobbying or distinct proponents. Reorganising towards specialisation may also be understood as an adaptation to external normative pressures and as a way of fostering productivity in times of tightened budgets. Other, and partly intertwined, trends have been the movement towards evidence-based practice and steps in order to implement elements of New Public Management. The country is characterized by extreme and relative poverty that together make up a majority of the population with essential deficiencies for a daily life, without being able to satisfy the genuine aspirations that make up the minimum profile of quality of life, as they are associated with the basic human needs. For quality of life, in the context of a duty to be, it is conceived as access to minimum levels of health, education, housing, nutrition, work and protection against calamities. The quality of life is also associated with freedom, a basic effective consumption and the real possibility of enhancing their human condition. This poverty incapacitates people to participate in economic, cultural and political life; with material deprivations, lack of civil and political rights that guarantee their citizen participation and ignorance of the identities and particularities of gender, ethnicity, religion or preference for social groups.

The resurgence of the discipline of Social Work at the University of Chile in 2014 is undoubtedly a milestone for the profession in our country. We could well say that it marks the end of the dictatorship for the discipline, since despite the years of "recovery of democracy in Chile" in the nineties, only fourteen years later the career was reopened in the emblematic state university. In this sense, this reopening symbolizes the end of a dark period for the discipline. With the advent of the dictatorial regime, the closure, imprisonment, exoneration and disappearance of students, academics and professionals of the university, together with the termination - by decree - of our life as a university profession, helped to exterminate social work.

; The intervention - investigation of the Social Work in the environmental dimension is an area of the knowledge and an ethical - political imperative. In this paper are explained the arguments that base that relation and are presented some challenges that raise these two connotations. For it, the writing emphasizes the need that has the profession to value multiple forms of expression of human life and not human life, resulting of the socio-environmental correlations in diverse scenarios. The approach of some challenges allow to elucidate the immense possibilities that the Social Work has of thinking the environment as an articulatory category in the professional activity. The challenges proposed for the profession are framed in the theoretical and methodological approach of the political ecology and in the concept of sustainability in the environmental dimension. Likewise, the reflection calls on to consider analytical and practical categories of conflict and environmental education for the critical and reflexive action of the relations culture - nature, collective management for the access to natural resources, and finally patrimonial conception of the nature.

Social work as a discipline and space of historical resistance keeps a political and social analysis from its formation and rapid development. The military dictatorship established by Augusto Pinochet in Chile embodied a path of repression, torture and clandestinity for the discipline, so it was necessary to generate new spheres of professional intervention, far from the murderous gaze of the de facto government. The feminist movements of the time and the role of social workers became key axes for organizing the community and resisting the state of terror generated by the de facto government. In addition to visualizing this trench of struggle, the discipline managed to build resistance processes that today maintain their professional identity.

The utility of information and communication technologies (ICT) becomes increasingly more essential in modern societies, and the new public space provided by ICT gives opportunities for people who previously did not have tools to be heard, to discuss, to meet and to start social movements, as happened in the case of «Occupy Wall Street» or «Arab Spring». Recently the similar phenomenon has been observed in Japan, a country with the existence of weak civil society, little interest of citizens to protest, and the lack of active social movements. Yet lately, new groups against the government appear taking advantage of the use of ICT, especially social networks. In this research we aim to study the impact, the application, and the advantages and disadvantages of social networks in these protest movements in order to increase better political education. The methodology to be used is case study (process-tracing method), analyzing data and information collected from various digital communication sources. After the study we conclude that the use of social networks contributes to the activation of Japanese civil society.

In recent decades, official discourses have attributed to education the power to solve all social phenomena that threaten and undermine life. This paper aims to specify and provide elements that allow an understanding of the relationship between education and society. Based on the concepts of education and social economic formation, our objective is to describe the relationship between: 1) education and economic infrastructure; 2) education and juridical-political superstructure; and 3) education and ideological superstructure. The study is theoretical in nature. The philosophical perspective used comes from the postulates of historical materialism and critical pedagogy. The methodology applied is based on the main guidelines of the qualitative approach, with a descriptive level of depth. The bibliographic method was used, as well as the techniques of text analysis, summaries and conceptual schemes. In the conclusions, it is exposed that the described relations allow: 1) to accelerate the qualification of the labor force; 2) to guarantee the respect for the division of labor and, to naturalize exploitation as a form of relation between human beings; 3) to create the political-legal conditions for the reproduction of the mode of production, through the joint action of the State-right-education; 4) to consolidate the ideological hegemony of the dominant social class, through the school and the official curriculum. ABSTRACT: Social diversity refers to all human manifestations of variety and rupture against the singlesubject and the undimensional modern society. Its wide recognition in Latin America by governments of the region, from the second half of the twentieth century to today, has transformed it into unquestionable social evidence and a category of scholarly analysis. We are therefore, helping its naturalization and institutionalization as an expression of uniqueness and rupture from society within a Western perspective. On this historical moment, the question to ask is: Where will so much recognition lead? This article aims at reflecting on the complexity associated with the social and political recognition of social diversity, warning us about or issues to be resolved in relation to our human subjectivity given that objectively it appears its recognition is resolved, and presenting a critical analysis of interculturality as a horizon for Latin American social work.
