THE MARIE CURIE CASE THROUGH THE LENS OF THE CULTURAL HISTORY OF SCIENCE: DISCUSSING RELATIONS BETWEEN WOMEN, SCIENCE AND PATRIARCHY IN SCIENCE EDUCATION: O CASO MARIE CURIE PELA LENTE DA HISTÓRIA CULTURAL DA CIÊNCIA: DISCUTINDO RELAÇÕES ENTRE MULHERES, CIÊNCIA E PATRIARCADO NA EDUCAÇÃO EM CIÊNCIAS ...
The research seeks to overcome a science teaching aimed at learning scientific concepts, moving towards an education in science that is critical and connected with modern political issues, towards understanding the nature of scientific work and towards discussions about patriarchy. Based on the recurrence in the literature of Marie Curie as an example of women in science, we developed the research with a view to answering the following question: what conditions enabled Marie Curie to participate in science and how the understanding of these conditions allows discussions in science education about the low numbers of female examples in the history of sciencethe. Answering the question based on references from science education and the historiography of the Cultural History of Science, the results enhance discussions in science education about women's participation in science, promoting critical understandings about science and patriarchy. ; A pesquisa ...

OCCUPATIONAL DIVISION AND CONTEMPORARY CHANGES IN INDIA: CASE STUDY OF A TRADITIONAL COMMUNITY AND THEIR ALTERNATIVE OCCUPATIONAL-BASED SOCIAL MOVEMENT
Occupational divisions in any country are understood largely as change in the activities of the membersin a given society and the way to earn their livelihood. Mostly, the change is observed in terms of changes in the distribution activities in the socio-economic structure of the society. India is a traditional caste-based society and so it is pertinent to describe occupational activities in terms of socio-cultural rather than the socio-economic structure. The socio-cultural implications of these occupational changes of the communities' opted alternative occupational options and understanding their development, requires interrelations of various aspects with holistic approach. The researchers felt that there is inadequacy of empirical studies relating to socio-cultural, economic and political attributes of different occupational groups. The point of departure of this paper is the caste affirmation and its ramifications on traditional communities by claiming their traditional occupations for new social identity. This affirmation in turn is expected to lead to a shift in the socio-political relationships of the community with the other dominant communities in social hierarchy. In India, occupational changes are taking place more widely than statistical changes and emerging with alternative social movement. This paper also critically analyses the existing caste theories, lacuna in the existing nomenclature, and gives a glimpse of Constitutional Privileges and their reflection on contemporary Government Orders (GOs) with special reference to a community (Scheduled Caste) in Tamil Nadu (State in South India). The paper empirically validates the emerging alternative collective social movement of a community, their social status through traditional occupation, knowledge system and their resistance to inclusion in the existing nomenclature

Ensino de filosofia, formação e interdisciplinaridade
In: Griot: Revista de Filosofia, Band 17, Heft 1, S. 193-203
The text presents and discusses the theme of interdisciplinarity with special focus on the human sciences from two articulated movements. (A) In the first part we are dedicated to the elaboration of the problem of cultural fragmentation (which brings us to the interdisciplinary challenge) by allusion to the "modern ambience" as a historically determined way of relating to culture and knowledge, for what Thomas Kuhn calls "normal science." (B) In the second part, and starting of such historical and epistemological considerations of modern subjectivation, it is important to point out the challenges involved in the design of an interdisciplinary formation and at the same time signaling to some strategy of facing the problem of "cultural fragmentation" - regarded as a deeply anchored historical phenomenon. The broad "cultural fragmentation" that multiple interdisciplinary strategies aim to combat in the school setting is especially experienced as a disciplinary compartmentalization of the curriculum in general and of the human sciences we are looking at here. In this context, we maintain that the curricular component of philosophy, but also the philosophical spirit pedagogically dilated, respectively, constitute a promising epistemological formation and strategy for confronting cultural fragmentation in the interdisciplinarity register.
Com Luvas De Veludo? A Estrategia Cultural Alema Em Portugal (1933-1945)
In: Relações internacionais: R:I, Heft 35
ISSN: 1645-9199
This text will focus on the German-Portuguese cultural relations between 1933 and1945. The promotion of the German culture and science was crucial to achieve a political and ideological hegemony abroad. We will analyse the most important activities organized by the German institutions in Portugal and the relationship between the National Educations Board/Institute for High Culture. Finally we will try to understand if this strategy promoted the construction of an intellectual and scientific network between Portugal and Germany. Adapted from the source document.

Anthropology has been playing a central role in questioning the supposed
objective and apolitical character of scientific knowledge by underlining the socio-cultural context
and history of the constitution of any scientific theory. From different
research universes, anthropologists have sought to demonstrate how science
and politics are composed, juxtaposed and produced in the daily work of
social actors. In the wake of what Donna Haraway (1995) pointed out, it is
there would not be the "science" look, but the look of the scientists - always located
in a space (which is not only geographical, but temporal, cultural, marked
by social differences, etc.). It is therefore based on the premise that science and
are mutually constituted and from specific contexts. Following
In this line, this collection explores how certain knowledges are constituted and legitimized, how technologies of government come into action - and, through practices
of the social agents, are (re) formulated - and how through such devices
new categories of analysis, social markers, populations and
subjetividades (FONSECA; MACHADO, 2015)
História e oralidade nos estudos comunicacionais
In: Revista Observatório, Band 2, Heft 2, S. 47-58
In: ETD - Educação Temática Digital, Band 12, Heft 2, S. 22-41
In: Libere carte
This article looks at the privileged relationship that David Sassoli had with Portugal at a time when the presidency of the European Parliament was shared with the presidency of the Council of Europe entrusted to António Costa. President Sassoli's speeches at the Social Summit held in the city of Porto on 7 and 8 May 2021 represent the synthesis of his socio-cultural and geopolitical vision. The Conference on the Future of Europe, which opened on 17 June 2021, ended when unfortunately Sassoli had already left us.
