; This paper analyzes the social participation of Spanish young people, based on the concept of social capital. We use Covariance Structural Models as methodology to find the relationship between the participation activities of young people and factors such as their associations membership, their interest on politics, their confidence feeling on the political participation and values such as solidarity. It also evaluates the influence of external variables such as gender, social class or studies. The main hypothesis is that the overall participation is mediated primarily by the interest in politics and by the activity in institutionalized areas of participation.

The beginning of the twenty-first century has seen mass immigration from the Global South to the Global North. Unfortunately, the geopolitical and racial dynamics of this migration flow often lead to a purported nexus between immigration and criminality. In immigrant-receiving nations, this is especially the case, where sometimes the government, the media, and even the population support a xenophobic perspective based on the interconnection between immigration and criminality. Spain serves as an interesting case study for understanding how cultural productions reflect and/or critique that tendency because between 2000 and 2010 it had the world's second largest net immigration rate. The large demographic shift that immigration has produced in Spain over the past three decades ultimately created a laboratory for the creation of a multiracial and multicultural nation. This special issue provides a more nuanced understanding regarding the criminalization of immigrant communities in Spanish fiction. The authors that form this special issue demonstrate how the staging of this criminalization is reworked in genres like novels, short stories, theater, and cinema to expose and problematize the purported nexus between criminality and immigration. By bringing together crime fiction and immigration studies scholars, this issue seeks to reformulate and reconsider what has been traditionally thought of as the "immigrant problem" and its relation to crime in contemporary Spanish fiction.

; Autofiction, originated in the narrative literary field, has become a real cultural phenomenon with broad acceptance in various genres, including drama. In addition to this, the progressive and current politicization of art has also been reflected in drama appearing different subjects relating to social issues. Thus, in Spanish theatre, we find female artists who have condemned the problem of male violence against women. In this work, we will analyze the capacity of auto-fiction to generate critical discourse against problems in the real world, in par-ticular violence against women. To this end, we will conduct the analysis of some contemporary plays as "Efecto Foehn", by Christina Gavel, "Anatomia dunha serea", by Iria ...

Response to reports in the 'Gaceta Mercantil', commenting on the involvement of Juan Manuel José Domingo Ortiz de Rosas in the affairs of Montevideo and the 1832 revolution headed by Juan Lavalle, an expired 'right and obligation' originally conferred to the Argentine Government by the 1828 peace treaty between Argentina and Brazil, which declared the independence of Montevideo
This paper studies the existence of a legal regime regarding illegal evidence in Spanish law. With that purpose, it refers to its legislative history, to its legal foundations and the particulars of its regulation. Also, the paper explains the development of Spanish Constitutional Court´s doctrine on the subject of the illegally obtained evidence, from its beginnings in the early eighties to our days.
ABSTRACTThe United Nations and the European Union are urging universities to include specific actions for disabled students in their tutorial action plans. In this sense, the aim of this paper is to present the services offered to disabled students at Spanish universities. For the study 40 universities were selected taking into account the importance of their work in the field of disability and that all regions in the country were represented. The methodology used was a qualitative approach, especially descriptive. The instruments used for data collection were a questionaire and an interview. The analysis focused on the four key moments of a tutorial plan: promotion, orientation, retention and graduation. The results show that universities devote greater effort to find mechanisms of inclusion for disabled students during their studies, they especially offer guidance on studies and curriculum adaptation, either material resources to access information or system evaluation. However, actions at graduation should improve and include specific orientation programs for job placement. ; This paper studies the retropias and utopias of retrospective inspiration in the Spanish traditionalism of the 19th and early 20th centuries. For this purpose, it takes into account the diversity of registers that characterizes the utopian phenomenon. During that period, reaction and action converged in counterrevolutionary thinking and fueled different forms of resistance. Faced with revolutionary utopianism, discourses of retropia were elaborated in which the past survived as both material and spiritual legacy, with some possible projection. Those discourses were founded on a reactionary mythology that justified purifying violence in defense of religion. Belligerence against liberalism and the increasing secularization of society became the hallmarks of Carlism and Traditionalism whose strategy was paradoxical: on the one hand, seeking a return to the past, on the other, willing to influence politics. All this through struggle for power within the Church and through the «recatolization» of society.

Democracy was not established completely in Spain until 1978, in contrast with many of its neighbors. But in Spanish modern history we can find strong ideological and political movements that promoted a democratic society. This paper defends that republicanism formed the philosophical basis of Democracy in modern Spain, because its thinkers and organizations produced, popularized and fought to apply democratic doctrines there. This paper studies Spanish republicanism from its beginning in approximately 1840 until the great exile in 1939.
