The Latest from Utah Governor Cumming's Proclamation
Abstract
p. 3 ; column 6 ; 12 ¾ col. in. ; General Johnston has entered Salt Lake City without trouble on 26 Jun 1858. The Mormons still remain at Provo and will not rent out their boarded up homes in Salt Lake City. A proclamation from Alfred Cumming exhorting the fellow citizens of Utah to return to their homes and render obedience to civil officials. Communication between the peace commissioners and Brigham Young proceeds daily and a friendly feeling seems to prevail.
