CHARACTERIZATION OF CONTRACTUALIZATION FORMS IN CASHEW SECTOR IN DEPARTMENT OF COLLINES OF BENIN ; CARACTERISATION DES FORMES DE CONTRACTUALISATION DANS LA FILIERE ANACARDE DANS LE DEPARTEMENT DES COLLINES AU BENIN

Abstract

International audience ; The paper aims to characterize forms of contracting in the cashew sector in Collines' Department of Benin. For this purpose, data were collected through 270 producers and 122 buyers (contractors and non-contractors) was randomly selected in research area. Statistical analysis has shown that most contracts are informal and are based mostly on informal, intermediate and multi-stakeholder models. Associated with these models, the types of contracts identified and most practiced are: the orchard maintenance contract signed by the producers; direct contact between Producer's Organization and buyers practiced by buyers in the research area. In fact, individuals (48.4%) and collectors (29%) opt for the informal model and producers (66.7%) for the multi-party contract model. In addition, contract Kg prices (548.87 FCFA / kg at production link level and 586.81 FCFA / kg at the level of the marketing link) are lower than non-contract Kg prices. Thus, it is necessary to study the existing business links between the actors involved in such contractual procedures in order to balance the relationship between the actors. ; Cet article a pour objectif de caractériser les formes de contractualisation dans la filière anacarde au Bénin. A cet effet, des données ont été collectées auprès de 270 producteurs et 122 acheteurs (contractants et non contractants) choisis de façon aléatoire et raisonnée. L'analyse statistique des données a montré que les contrats sont en majorité de nature informelle et sont basés le plus sur les modèles informels, intermédiaire et multipartites. Associés à ces modèles, les types de contrat identifiés et les plus pratiqués sont : le contrat d'entretien des vergers signé par les producteurs ; le contrat de mise en relation directe entre les Organisations de Producteurs (OP) et acheteurs pratiqué par les acheteurs.
