Abstract

The article examines the assessments of the February Revolution in Russia, given by the French press in 1917. In general the French press welcomed the fall of the tsarist government. The tsarist bureaucracy incompetence and «special mentality» of Russian people were viewed as the main causes for the fall of autocracy.
