A propaganda play in Ukrainian Soviet drama ; П'ЄСА-АГІТКА В УКРАЇНСЬКІЙ РАДЯНСЬКІЙ ДРАМАТУРГІЇ

Abstract

The article deals with the analysis of the place of the propaganda play in the Ukrainian drama of the late 1910s – early 1920s. The socio-historical conditions of the emergence and existence of the propaganda play, its connection with the activities of amateur clubs and frontline theatres are examined. The attention is focused on the propaganda function of the theatre in the post-revolutionary society. Artistic traits of propaganda plays in particular the nature of the conflict, peculiarities of the characters and their speech are analyzed. Certain features, which are common to the propaganda play and expressionist drama such as fragmentation, mosaicism, mounting, undeveloped conflicts, posters, schematics, oversimplisity are defined. Originality of genre division of propaganda plays is emphasized e.g.: singling out of genre forms, such as calendar settings devoted to a certain date, propaganda campaigns, living newspaper, concert-rallies, political carnivals, staging, propaganda courts, revues, etc. It is concluded that the propaganda play has become a necessary step for the further development of Ukrainian drama though it left no noticeable trace in the literature,Keywords: propaganda play, ideological propaganda, conflict, speech, propaganda court. ; Стаття присвячена аналізу місця п'єси-агітки в українській драматургії кінця 1910-х – початку 1920-х років. Розглянуто суспільно-історичні умови виникнення та побутування агітки, її зв'язок із діяльністю самодіяльних гуртків і фронтових театрів. Зосереджено увагу на пропагандистській функції театру в пореволюційному суспільстві. Проаналізовано художні риси агітаційних п'єс, зокрема характер конфлікту, особливості персонажів, мовлення. Відзначено певні особливості, спільні для агіток та експресіоністської драматургії: фрагментарність, мозаїчність, монтажність, нерозробленість конфліктів, плакатність, схематизм, надмірну спрощеність. Наголошено на своєрідності жанрового поділу п'єс-агіток, на виділенні таких жанрових різновидів, як календарні постановки, присвячені певній даті, агіткампанії, живі газети, концерти-мітинги, політкарнавали, інсценізації, агітсуди, ревю тощо. Зроблено висновок, що п'єса-агітка, не залишивши помітного сліду в літературі, стала необхідним етапом для подальшого розвитку української драматургії.Ключові слова: п'єса-агітка, ідеологічна пропаганда, конфлікт, мовлення, агітсуд.Статья посвящена анализу места пьесы-агитки в украинской драматургии конца 1910-х – начала 1920-х годов. Рассмотрено общественно-исторические условия возникновения и существования агитки, ее связь с деятельностью кружков самодеятельности и фронтовых театров. Акцентировано внимание на пропагандистской функции театра в пореволюционном обществе. Проанализировано художественные черты агитационных пьес, в частности характер конфликта, особенности персонажей, речи. Отмечено определенные особенности, общие для агиток и экспрессионистической драматургии: фрагментарность, мозаичность, монтажность, неразработанность конфликтов, плакатность, схематизм, чрезмерная упрощенность. Подчеркнуто своеобразие жанрового деления пьес-агиток, выделение таких жанровых форм, как календарные постановки, посвященные определенной дате, агиткампании, живые газеты, концерты-митинги, политкарнавалы, инсценизации, агитсуды, ревю и т.д.
