Las políticas de la historia en Colombia: el primer gobierno del Frente Nacional y el "problema" de La Violencia (1958-1962)

Abstract

La guerra civil de los años cuarenta y cincuenta ("La Violencia") representa la ruptura más dramática en la historia colombiana del siglo XX . Sin embargo, no ha dejado casi huellas en la memoria histórica del país. A continuación voy a aclarar si esto se debe a un "pacto de olvido" como sostienen algunos investigadores. Para ello mostraré la supresión oficialista de las voces críticas en la última fase de la guerra, es decir durante el primer gobierno del Frente Nacional (1958-1962).AbstractThe civil war of the 1940ies and 50ies, known as "La Violencia", is considered to be the turning point in Colombia's recent history. Nevertheless, it seems that the conflict didn't have much impact on historical memory. Is this the result of an elitist "pact of oblivion", as some scholars affirm? In the following I will focus on the official suppression of critical voices in the aftermath of war. Therefore, my emphasis is on the first National Front government (1958-62).
