From career anchors to professional preferences of accountants in southern Perú ; De las anclas de carrera a las preferencias profesionales de los contadores en el sur del Perú

Abstract

In times gone by, professional vocations were oriented towards lineage or social position, hence the preference of certain families to induce their offspring towards medical careers or some kind of science, which would raise the family name to renown and recognition, while the common people had to choose between a military career or presbyterianism. Times have changed and in this respect different studies and theories have been conceived to understand the aspects of the career decision, or the so-called career anchors of Edgar Schein, who argues that all individuals are different, therefore, their behaviors will be different. Based on this, this article aims to describe the fundamental characteristics of the career anchors of a group of accountants from the city of Juliaca, graduates of the same School of Accounting, their interests, the type of control they prefer, among others, and to know what aspects can be improved. ; Otros tiempos en los que se orientaba la vocación profesional hacia la alcurnia o la posición social, de ahí la preferencia de ciertas familias por inducir a sus vástagos hacia las carreras médicas o algún tipo de ciencia, que elevaran el apellido al renombre y al reconocimiento, mientras que al vulgo le tocaba elegir entre la carrera militar o el presbiterianismo. Los tiempos han cambiado y al respecto se han concebido diferentes estudios y teorías a fin de comprender los aspectos de la decisión de carrera, o las denominadas anclas de carrera de Edgar Schein, quien sostiene que todos los individuos son diferentes, por lo tanto, sus comportamientos serán diferentes. En base a ello, en el presente artículo se pretende describir las características fundamentales de las anclas de carrera que poseen un grupo de contadores de la ciudad de Juliaca, egresados de la misma Facultad de Contabilidad, sus intereses, el tipo de control que prefieren, entre otros, y conocer qué aspectos debe mejorar.
