Culture of peace and transversality of an education for peace in the university curriculum ; Cultura de paz y transversalidad de una educación para la paz en el currículo universitario

Abstract

The comprehensive development of human capacities, strengthening respect for fundamental rights, is a principle and foundation for the reaffirmation of the values of the human being and the assurance of peace. The objective of this review article was to characterize the implementation processes of the culture of peace as a cross-curricular axis in university education by analyzing reference documents on the forms or procedures, activities or strategies of incorporation linked to the promotion of peace. culture of peace in the process of integral formation of the students. The exposition and proposal of the problem is approached from the perspective of the determination of the attributes on the culture of peace through the functions and competences inherent to higher education institutions, counting within them the University Social Responsibility (RSU) in the formation of professionals. The results of the study show that it is vitally important to consider these thematic axes to strengthen the teaching-learning process from a multidisciplinary and holistic perspective. Education with the inclusion of democratic values contributes to the construction and social interaction as people in an autonomous, emotional and rational way from the identification of situations and phenomena characterized by anti-values of justice and dignity, such as delinquency and juvenile violence, domestic and family violence. In a conclusive way, it could be affirmed that the inclusion of this theme as a transversal axis in the curriculum could substantiate the process of education for peace and that of the integral formation of university students. ; El desarrollo integral de las capacidades humanas fortaleciendo el respeto por los derechos fundamentales es un principio y fundamento para la reafirmación de los valores del ser humano y el aseguramiento de la paz. El objetivo de este artículo de revisión fue el de caracterizar los procesos de implementación de la cultura de paz como eje trasversal curricular en la educación universitaria haciendo análisis de documentos referenciales sobre las formas o procedimientos, actividades o estrategias de incorporación vinculadas a la promoción de la cultura de paz en el proceso de formación integral de los estudiantes. La exposición y propuesta del problema se aborda desde la perspectiva de la determinación de los atributos sobre la cultura de paz por intermedio de las funciones y competencias inherentes a las instituciones de educación superior contando dentro ellas la Responsabilidad Social Universitaria (RSU) en la formación de profesionales. Los resultados del estudio muestran que es de vital importancia considerarse estos ejes temáticos para fortalecer el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje bajo una óptica multidisciplinaria y holística. La educación con inclusión de los valores democráticos contribuye a la construcción e interacción social como personas de manera autónoma, emocional y racional a partir de la identificación de situaciones y fenómenos caracterizados por los antivalores de justicia y dignidad, como la delincuencia y violencia juvenil, la violencia doméstica y familiar. De manera concluyente podría afirmarse que la inclusión de esta temática como eje transversal el currículo podría sustanciar el proceso de educación para la paz y el de la formación integral de los estudiantes universitarios
