Abstract

Summary. The purpose of the study is to highlight the housing facilities of intelligentsia of the western regions of Ukraine in the first postwar years, and to show how housing affected intelligentsia's daily life. The research methodology is based on general scientific principles of historicism, objectivity, scientificity, systematicity, anthropologism, multifactoriality, as well as on the following scientific methods: problem-chronological, historical-typological, historical-biographical, historical-psychological, comparative-historical, institutional, communicative. The scientific novelty. The author makes an attempt to reveal the housing aspect of everyday life of the intelligentsia in the western region of Ukraine in the context of socio-political realities of the first postwar years from a regional perspective; finds out where the intelligentsia lived, shows the mechanism of housing acquisition; proves that housing was an important component of the living environment of the intelligentsia. Conclusions. In the postwar years, the housing problem remained acute for many intellectual families in the western region of Ukraine. Obtaining individual square meters depended on the position, place of work, residence place, level of association of the intelligentsia with government. The housing issue could be resolved by administrative means, by the intervention of the party and state bodies or influential persons, the mechanism of housing acquisition was often associated with various abuse, bribery, and at times illegal actions. It was a mean of influencing the intelligentsia, although the status of a Soviet intellectual allowed the party and Soviet authorities to appeal to and request housing improvements, but this was not always safe, given that all domestic problems should not be a priority, and resolution of those problems were not always positive and quick. Therefore, after the war, members of the intelligentsia of the western region had very different living conditions: some lived in separate apartments, houses, dormitories, rented apartments and rooms, stayed in basements and underground accommodations, attics, in the rooms located inside governmental institutions, i.e. conditions unsuitable for normal life. ; Анотація. Мета дослідження. Висвітлити житлове забезпечення інтелігенції західного регіону України у перші повоєнні роки, показати, як воно впливало на її повсякдення. Методологія дослідження базується на загальнонаукових принципах історизму, об'єктивності, науковості, системності, антропологізму, багатофакторності, а також проблемно-хронологічному, історико-типологічному, історико-біографічному, історико-психологічному, порівняльно-історичному, інституціональному, комунікативному наукових методах. Наукова новизна полягає у тому, що робиться спроба в регіональному ракурсі розкрити житловий аспект повсякдення інтелігенції західного регіону України у контексті суспільно-політичних реалій перших повоєнних років, з'ясовується, де мешкали представники інтелігенції, показується механізм його набуття, доводиться, що житло було важливою складовою життєвого простору інтелігенції. Висновки. У повоєнні роки для багатьох інтелігентських родин західного регіону України гострою залишалася житлова проблема. Отримання окремих квадратних метрів залежало від посади, місця роботи, проживання, наближеності до влади. Житлове питання можна було вирішити адміністративним методом, втручанням партійно-державних органів чи впливових осіб; механізм набуття житла часто був пов'язаний з різними зловживаннями, не завжди законними діями. Воно було певним засобом впливу на інтелігенцію, хоч статус радянського інтелігента дозволяв звертатися у партійні і радянські органи зі скаргами та проханнями про поліпшення житлових умов, але це не завжди було безпечно з огляду на те, що всі побутові негаразди мали бути не пріоритетними, а вирішення їх не завжди було позитивним і швидким. Тому після війни представники інтелігенції західного регіону мали дуже різні житлові умови: проживали в окремих квартирах, будинках, гуртожитках, винаймали квартири та кімнати, а також перебивалися в напівпідвальних і підвальних приміщеннях, горищах, в приміщеннях радянських закладів і установ, тобто в непристосованих для життєдіяльності умовах.
