Abstract

The multiculturalism of modern society reflects in use of the concept of "sociocultural identity" in academic discourse. At the same time, there is no information about the place of the sociocultural identity among other types of identity, and description of its features. Because it is a new concept, search for text for analysis of sociocultural identity inevitably, in the beginning, should cover wider contexts and include different types of identity in discourse. Consequently, an attempt of the interpretation of identity discourse in contemporary Ukrainian humanities based on the materials of the international interdisciplinary conferences in Ostrog was made. The materials of the 9th international scientific conference in 2016 and 10th international scientific conference in 2017 were analyzed using the method of documents analysis. We revealed that mainly philosophers construct identity discourse; consequently, the questions on global and general topics are raised. In the article two primary vectors in which identity is constructed, culture and national politics, are defined. Moreover, the central thematic directions of the cultural domain are delineated: contemporary culture under globalization, informational age and politics of multiculturalism, cultural tradition of a particular nation, the impact of language and religion (as elements of the culture) on identity. National politics of the state is understood as ideology and state politics in the framework of one society in previous centuries, as well as in contemporary times. We revealed that issue of national identity is dominant in the academic discourse. The ethnic feature of it is accentuated; however, the political dimension is present. Moreover, based on the proceedings of the analyzed conferences, we might raise a hypothesis that it is inherent for foreign humanities. It is revealed that use and analysis of regional identities issues decreased from 2016 to 2017. Scholars are focused on studies of the identities of bigger social groups, at the same time, personal identities are on the periphery of scientific interest. Almost all conference participants demonstrate an understanding of identity not as natural/innate but as a social construct, namely the primordial understanding of identity is absent. One of the main findings is that sociocultural identity is represented in the discourse as the complex abstract concept mainly by philosophers and is less used than national identity, which is most used in the discourse. Sociocultural identity is represented in the context of globalization, informational age, politics of multiculturalism, and postmodernism epoch. ; В условиях интенсивных социальных изменений и самоопределения личности обосновано целостный теоретический подход к объяснению идентичности в поликультурном обществе. Осуществлена попытка описания дискурса идентичности в современной украинской гуманитаристике на основе анализа материалов международных и междисциплинарных конференций в г. Остроге. Выяснено, что дискурс идентичности формируется в значительной степени философами, поэтому проблематика разворачивается вокруг глобальных и общих тем. Выявлено значительное доминирование в дискурсе тематики этнонациональной и национально-политической идентичности, то есть акцентируются идентичности больших социальных групп. Зафиксировано уменьшение использования и описания проблематики региональных идентичностей по сравнению с предыдущим годом. Определены два основных вектора сфер, в которых разворачивается идентичность это – культура и национальная политика государства. Выяснено, что почти все участники конференций в текстовых материалах демонстрируют понимание идентичности как социального конструкта. Определено, что тематика социокультурной идентичности представлена как абстрактное понятие философами, однако значительно уступает позиции национальной идентичности. ; В умовах інтенсивних соціальних змін і самовизначення особистості обґрунтовано цілісний теоретичний підхід до пояснення ідентичності в полікультурному суспільстві. Здійснено спробу опису дискурсу ідентичності в сучасній українській гуманітаристиці на основі аналізу матеріалів міжнародних та міждисциплінарних конференцій у м. Острозі. З'ясовано, що дискурс ідентичності формується значною мірою філософами, тому проблематика розгортається навколо глобальних і загальних тем. Виявлено значне домінування в дискурсі тематики етнонаціональної та національно-політичної ідентичностей, тобто акцентуються ідентичності великих соціальних груп. Зафіксовано зменшення використання та опису проблематики регіональних ідентичностей порівняно з попереднім роком. Визначено два основні вектори сфер, у яких розгортається ідентичність – культура та національна політика держави. З'ясовано, що майже всі учасники конференцій у текстових матеріалах демонструють розуміння ідентичності як соціального конструкту. Визначено, що тематика соціокультурної ідентичності подана як абстракте поняття філософами, проте значно поступається позиціями національній ідентичності.
