Mananooligosacharidų ir β-gliukanų įtaka viščiukų broilerių fiziologinei būklei, produktyvumui ir mėsos kokybei ; Effect of mannan-oligosaccharides and β-glucan on physiological condition, productivity and meat quality of broiler chickens

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the impact of mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS) and β-glucans prebiotics to broiler chickens blood serum cholesterol, LDL (low density lipids), HDL (high density lipids) concentrations, development of digestive tract and internal organs, pH levels of the digestive tract content and to the amount of dry substances (DS) in digestive tract, quantity of DS in the litter, development of tibia, growth intensity, feed conversion, broiler chickens survival, productivity, pH concentrations, colorimetric and organoleptic characteristics of the meat. Ross 308 line combination of 400 broiler chickens were divided into two groups: control and experimental. The control group of broiler chickens were fed compound feed which had been inserted of 15 % triticale and the experimental group was fed coumpound feed which had been inserted with 15% triticale and 2 g/kg prebiotics. Broiler chickens had been grown up to 35 days of age, and then slaughtered in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Lithuania, and subordinate legislations, the European Union directives and the European Commission recommendations. During this study, all the chickens body weight, feed consumption and bird survival rate was determend, also was determend the dry matter of litter during various periods of experiment and then randomly selected 5 birds from control and experimental groups to be slaughtered to value: indicators of blood serum, development of the intestines and internal organs, the pH of the intestinal content, DS of the intestinal content, development of tibia, morphological carcass composition, meat color and sensory characteristics. The results showed that MOS and β-glucans had positive effect on broiler physiological condition, because cholesterol concentration in the blood serum decreased 6 %, HDL-cholesterol increased 2 % and triglycerides 16 % (p0,05). Also MOS and β-glucans accessories lowered the pH of the contents 1 % (p>0,05) in chickens colon and increased DS content of 0,45 % (p0,05), subjected chickens weight was only 1 % lower, feed conversion was 1 % better and survival rate 3 % reduced as compared with the control group. MOS and β-glucans didn't have a statistically significant effect on morphological composition of subjected chicken carcasses, pH levels of breast and thigh muscle, cooking losses, raw and cooked meat color characteristics, also characteristics of the meat texture, smell and taste (p>0,05).
