Abstract

The significant record of achievement by NPS astronaut alumni is a tribute to their individual talent and the unique, dynamic, and innovative programs at NPS, especially programs in the Graduate School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Our goal is to educate the next generation of U.S. and international leaders and prepare them for the uncertainties and challenges of a rapidly changing technological world. GSEAS students learn why things work, but also why they don't work, as well as how fundamental scientific and engineering principles can be applied to the integration of U.S. military and defense systems. In the space systems engineering and operations tracks, students design and build satellites to combine classroom discussions with hands-on experience that links theory and operational reality.
