Abstract

In this article we looked at Turkey's political and social developments for almost a decade, often described in terms of 'authoritarian drift' or 'populist'. Through the cross-eyes of journalist Ru-en Çakır and Historian Hamit Bozarslan, we have sought to understand them, and to see whether they could be linked to a broader trend, characterised by the rise of anti-democratic regimes and so-called populist leaders around the world. ; International audience ; In this article we looked at Turkey's political and social developments for almost a decade, often described in terms of 'authoritarian drift' or 'populist'. À travers les regards croisés du journaliste Ruşen Çakır et de l'Historien Hamit Bozarslan nous avons cherché à les comprendre, et à voir s'il était possible de les rattacher à une tendance plus générale, caractérisée par une montée de régimes antidémocratiques et de leaders dits populistes à travers le monde.
