Abstract

• An appeal to military authorities will be made if necessary to close saloons at the state line Dr. C.W. McLaughlin, City Health Commissioner of the Kansas side, said last night; ¾ of their patrons are from the Kansas side or Kansas side industries and carry flu germs across the state line; the cooperation of health authorities in Missouri will be requested [Note: it seems that the Kansas side has closed saloons or was already dry]• The one death on the Kansas side was of a student at the army motor school who was being treated at Bethany Hospital ; Newspaper article ; 10A
