El "neoliberalismo" norteamericano: una religión (del vacío) utilitarista y marginalista

Abstract

This article demonstrates that neoliberalism bears hardly any relation at all to classical liberalism, which defends moral and civic values in the face of religion. Neoliberalism has precedents in utilitarianism. In the United States, its source is marginalism; its precursors can be found in Prussia; and its followers, of Austrian extraction, in U.S. authors. Neoliberalism, in the fight against collectivism, went as far as to negate all social questions and the conversion of politics into a market. That vacuum is filled by the sanctification of calculations and a tyranny of the majority that dissolves personal judgment. ; Este artículo demuestra que el neoliberalismo tiene poco que ver con el liberalismo clásico, que reivindicaba cualidades morales y cívicas ante la religión. El neoliberalismo encuentra antecedentes en el utilitarismo. En Estados Unidos, ese neoliberalismo tiene sus fuentes en el marginalismo, sus precursores en Prusia, y sus seguidores, de origen austriaco, en autores estadunidenses. El neoliberalismo, en la lucha contra el colectivismo, llegó hasta la negación de toda cuestión social y la conversión de la política en mercado. El vacío es ocupado por la sacralización del cálculo y una tiranía de la mayoría que disuelve el juicio personal.
