Intervención social con mujeres inmigradas en Chile: ¿asistencialismo y/o promoción social? / Social intervention with immigrant women in Chile: ¿assistance and / or social promotion?

Abstract

Ante el incremento de la inmigración en Chile, resulta importante comprender de qué manera los dispositivos de intervención social por el que transitan algunas mujeres inmigradas contribuyen o no a una inclusión que considere la igualdad de oportunidades para estos colectivos y el ejercicio de derechos, como también la promoción de oportunidades de inserción social, económica y cultural. Se analizaron cualitativamente los discursos y prácticas que desarrollan las agentes (interventoras y usuarias inmigradas) vinculadas a entidades del gobierno local yONG en cinco comunas con mayor población inmigrada de la Región Metropolitana (Chile). Los resultados parciales de la investigación1 apuntan a que los servicios disponibles se mueven constantemente en una encrucijada entre asistir y/o promover a este colectivo, contribuyendo o dificultando sus procesos efectivos de inclusión social. Given the increase of immigration in Chile, understanding how devices of social intervention transited by immigrant women contribute to inclusion considering equal opportunities for this group is relevant. The foregoing includes legal recognition, the exercise of rights, and fostering integration opportunities (social, economic, and cultural). Said discourses and located practices, developed by agents (interventors and immigrants) linked to local Government entities and NGOs in 5 municipalities that host most of the migrated population in the Metropolitan Region (Chile), were analyzed qualitatively in order to address this subject. Partial results of the research indicate that the available services are constantly moving at a crossroads between assisting and / or promoting this group, contributing to, or hindering their effective processes of social inclusion.
