Abstract

A recurring theme of Catalan historiography is the debate on the effects of Philip V's military policy on the economy of Catalonia after 1714. This question, however, is part of a broader debate: assess the ways in which the Crown got mobilizes their military resources, who benefited from it and what effects it had on the territory. In the end, it is about analyzing the ways in which the Bourbon state was configured. From the analysis of the mobilization of military resources for the expedition of the conquest of Sicily in 1718, this article aims to answer some of these questions. ; Un tema recurrente de la historiografía catalana es el debate sobre los efectos que tuvo la política militar de Felipe V sobre la economía de Cataluña después de 1714. Esta cuestión sin embargo forma parte de un debate más amplio: valorar los modos en que la Corona consiguió movilizar sus recursos militares, quién se benefició de ello y que efectos tenía sobre el territorio. En el fondo se trata de analizar las formas en que se configuró el Estado borbónico. A partir del análisis de la movilización de recursos militares para la expedición de conquista de Sicilia en 1718, el presente artículo pretende dar respuesta a algunas de estas preguntas.
