New trends in pension, if Colombia ; Nuevas tendencias de pensión. El caso Colombia

Abstract

One of the major concerns with an aging population is economic sustainability. With the pension system, the government is striving to meet this need. Depending on the country, different pension systems exist and vary with respect to the rights of an individual when he reaches the age of pension eligibility. These systems are funded by long-term investments made by the Colombian pension fund, which acts as the administrator of pensions for current and future recipients. This study presents a response to questions about the rights of pension recipients and the economic resources obtained by the administration of investment portfolios. To do this, the study used two methods: a) summary to understand fundamental elements and transition to more complex understanding, and b) analysis to understand the cause and effect relationship of the research variables. The result was the possibility to conceptualize the principal investment bonds on behalf of the fund, the financial impact of market fluctuations on the investment portfolio and the current pension model from the perspective of the investment of resources; however, these results question which variable, the rights or the returns, is the most important. ; Una de las mayores preocupaciones para las personas en su vejez es su sostenibilidad económica. La pensión es una herramienta con la cual el Estado busca dar solución a lo anterior. Según el país existen diferentes sistemas de pensión los cuales varían en derechos para las personas al momento de pensionarse y se respaldan en las inversiones de los recursos del sistema por parte de los fondos de pensión, que actúan como administradores de los recursos de los pensionados actuales y futuros. Este estudio responde a los cuestionamientos entre los derechos frente a los recursos económicos obtenidos por la administración del portafolio de inversión en el largo plazo de los fondos de pensión obligatoria en Colombia. Se utilizaron los métodos de síntesis, para comprender los elementos fundamentales y pasar al conocimiento más complejo, y el de análisis para entender la relación causa-efecto de las variables del problema de investigación. Como resultado se encontró el principal título de inversión por parte de los fondos, el impacto financiero de las variaciones de mercado del título en el portafolio y el modelo de pensión actual visto desde la inversión de los recursos. Estos resultados nos cuestionan qué variable es más importante: los derechos o los rendimientos.
