Building Peace in Colombia: Implications of the Restoration of Human Dignity ; Construir la paz en Colombia: implicaciones del restablecimiento de la dignidad humana

Abstract

This essay shows the implications that must be considered to build a stable and lasting peace in Colombia after the signature of the peace agreement between the national government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (Farc-ep). It is necessary to recognize that not only the State and ex-combatants have interference and responsibility, but that Colombian society as a whole must be called in order to get involved in the construction of a new country project. With this in mind, peace is considered as the slow, extensive, and complex process that Colombia needs after so many years of pain and suffering that have stemmed the prevailing social injustice. Therefore, reconciliation is conceived as the very restoration of the human condition. ; Este ensayo manifiesta las implicaciones que se deben considerar para construir una paz estable y duradera en Colombia, tras la firma del acuerdo de paz entre el Gobierno Nacional y las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia-Ejército del Pueblo (Farc-ep). Se precisa reconocer que no solo tienen injerencia y responsabilidad el Estado y los excombatientes, sino que es necesario hacer un llamado extensivo a toda la sociedad colombiana, con el fin de que se involucre en lo que respecta a la construcción de un nuevo proyecto de país. En ese orden de ideas, se plantea la paz como el proceso lento, extenso y complejo que necesita Colombia después de tantos años de dolor y sufrimiento de injusticia social imperante. Por consiguiente, la reconciliación se concibe como el restablecimiento mismo de la condición humana.
