Abstract

Conocer el pasado es entonces fijar una imagen de él. Es por esto que para Benjamin hay una fuerte conexión entre el conocimiento del pasado y la política. Sólo una redención del pasado puede salvar nuestro presente. Por lo mismo, si la memoria fuera un exclusivo mirar hacia el pasado, se perdería la dimensión política y activa que el pasado tiene para Benjamin. ; To know the past is then to fix an image of it. This is why for Benjamin there is a strong connection between knowledge of the past and politics. Only a redemption from the past can save our present. For the same reason, if memory were an exclusive look towards the past, the political and active dimension that the past has for Benjamin would be lost.
