Abstract

Publicado previamente en: Historia del presente, 24, 2014, pp. 7-26 - ISSN 1579-8135 ; El objetivo de este artículo es estudiar la figura de Santiago Carrillo como dirigente juvenil desde los inicios de su militancia en la juventud socialista. Se analiza su ascenso como dirigente de la Federación de Juventudes Socialistas y su papel en la unificación de ésta con la Unión de Juventudes Comunistas de España para concluir tratando su conversión en el líder de las Juventudes Socialistas Unificadas durante la guerra civil española y en los primeros momentos del exilio. ; The aim of this article is to study the outstanding figure of Santiago Carrillo as a youth leader since his political affiliation to the socialist youth. This work analyses his rise within the Socialist Youth Federation and his role in the process of unification of this organisation with the Spanish Communist Youth Union. It concludes dealing with his conversion in the leader of the Unified Socialist Youth during the Spanish Civil War and at the early stages of the exile.
