Abstract

En el siglo XX, la Humanidad fue testigo de un fenómeno sin precedentes en la historia de la Europa Ilustrada: la presencia de miles de apátridas y refugiados que huían buscando protección, de miles de seres humanos que se habían tornado superfluos. En estas páginas trataremos de demostrar el carácter superfluo que siguen teniendo los refugiados y cómo han perdurado en el tiempo algunas medidas policivas y administrativas que se tomaron en su época: la puesta en cuarentena de individuos en centros de retención, el incremento de la industria de seguridad en las fronteras y la protección in situ ; In the 20th century, Mankind witnessed a phenomenon without precedent in the annals of Enlightened Europe: the influx of thousands of stateless persons and refugees who fled their native lands in search of protection, of thousands of human beings who had become superfluous.
