Abstract

Our framework is a research on ways in which democratic political practices are updated in contexts of capitalism by dispossession. In this article, we investigate institutional wefts and struggles for rights-at national and transnational scalesaround the definition of experimental and commercial approval of genetically modified seeds. We make use of the notions of networks and governance to give account for the complex interactions of state-public actors, citizens and private actors, who oppose their powers to produce a normative order and enforce it. We try to reconstruct theoretically and empirically those interconnections, interferences and tensions in these networks, through case studies of Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. ; Nuestro trabajo tiene como marco de referencia la investigación sobre formas en que se actualizan prácticas políticas democráticas en contextos del capitalismo por desposesión. En este artículo indagamos los entramados institucionales y de luchas por derechos a escala nacional y transnacional en torno a la definición de políticas de aprobación experimental y comercial de semillas modificadas genéticamente. Acudimos a la nociones de redes y de governance para dar cuenta del funcionamiento complejo de actores públicos estatales, ciudadanos y privados que enfrentan poderes para producir normas y hacerlas efectivas. Intentamos reconstruir teórica y empíricamente las interconexiones, interferencias y tensiones en estas redes a partir de casos de estudios de Argentina, Brasil y México.
