Abstract

The article deals with the military and state activity of Pavlo Petrovych Skoropadsky on basis of the analysis of historical documents, fundamental works, monographs, publications in the press of domestic and foreign historians. It was elucidated heroic and tragic pages of the history ofUkraine, achievements and bitter lessons of theUkrainianState in solving the problems of its development in the difficult 1918. ; У статті на основі аналізу історичних документів, фундаментальних праць, монографій, публікацій у пресі вітчизняних і закордонних істориків розкривається військова та державотворча діяльність Павла Петровича Скоропадського, показуються без прикрас героїчні та трагічні сторінки історії України, здобутки та гіркі уроки Української Держави у вирішенні проблем її розбудови у важкому 1918 році.
