Abstract

This thesis analyzes grievous bodily harm that is defined under Article 135 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania. With the aim to examine in greater detail the substantive aspects of the chosen theme, the work seeks to reveal the common crimes and human health concept, focusing on components such as health, health disruption, system of crimes against human health in the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania. It also deals with historical evolution of grievous bodily harm in the criminal legislation of Lithuania during various Lithuanian historical periods. Research is focused on the analysis of grievous bodily harm, objective and subjective characteristics of the crime as well as the features qualifying such crime. Comparison of the criminal legislation concerning grievous bodily harm in foreign countries (Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Germany and Poland) is carried out.
