Authorizing Legislation, 1890 & 1891

Abstract

On March 28, 1890, the legislature of the new state of Washington approved legislation authorizing the establishment of the Washington Agricultural College and School of Science, which was the first name for what would eventually become Washington State University. On March 9, 1891, they passed legislation further clarifying and elaborating upon the school's role. Both pieces of legislature are shared here, plus the title page from each volume.
