Abstract

This is a collection of postcards and letters sent from German and Italian POWs at Defense Depot Ogden during World War II. The correspondence was sent home to family and loved ones and all passed through the United States Censorship office. It also includes one postcard sent from a prison guard home to his friends. ; 3 x 5 in. postcard ; Hello friends- Many thanks for the cigarettes and peanuts I received from you today. Our company has been stationed here since the middle of April. Tomorrow I am leaving with a convoy of prisoners from someplace near here. I have covered most all the states now and handled all types of prisoners. The big pond may be our next move. This is our home base however from now on. A beautiful spot in the Rockies.
