Abstract
AbstractThe paper by Towler(1) described the design, construction and testing of a pumping installation which incorporated a triple‐expansion Cornish steam engine with an integral three‐ram positive‐displacement pump. This paper contrasts and discusses the developments, with pumping machinery, which have taken place during the last 100 years.
