Social Progress and Sport

Abstract

The measure of the development of man regarding the level of the social conditions necessary for his existence and welfare, and the corresponding faculties and skills of man himself is on principle the social progress. That is why the results of the scientific and technical revolution, its social consequences and the advantages and possibilities of a socialist social formation have to be represented from the aspect of social progress. The author investigates the characteristic fea tures of the influence of social progress on sport and the interactions between sport and society, which become apparent from this point of view. On the basis of the Marxian-Leninist theory of culture and sport, he tries to fix some tenden cies of the further development.
