Abstract
Cultural deprivation has been found to affect the acquisition, development, and utilization of language for the child. Social class, home and environmental variables are among the most significant as underlying dimensions of language patterns. Their influences are considered and discussed,
as is language, as a series of conditioned responses reinforced in the developmental process.
