Usage of icons, candles and rosary beads in everyday life: Narratives of church believers of Serbian Orthodox Church

Abstract

Icons, candles and rosary beads are among the items most commonly used in
everyday religious practices of Serbian Orthodox Church believers. This
paper investigates the place and importance of these items in individual
lives of church believers. The research is based on interviews with
individual members of church communities of SOC, conducted as a part of the
Church-religious practices of Orthodox believers in Serbia: anthropological
research project, in the period of 2021 to 2023.
