Yezidi Spirits? On the question of Yezidi beliefs: A review article

Abstract

While the Yezidi tradition undoubtedly has certain core characteristics, a more or less "logically" coherent system of beliefs is rarely described as one of these. The book under review deals with beliefs about a wide range of Yezidi "Holy Beings" and seeks to describe the "essentials" of Yezidism in this respect. This calls into question both the nature of Yezidi beliefs, and the methodological approach used here to analyse these.
