Abstract

This is part of a major study; the analysis of the most important productions of the « Death of Danton » in Northern Europe is published here. Certain productions were truly events at the time: from that of Max Reinhart in Berlin in 1916 to Kurt Strom's production in Goteborg in 1920; then a new generation of productions was done among which Michael Menschke's in 1971 within the cercle of the Stockholm Riksdag is doubtless the most remarkable.
