Abstract
Thirteen years later, seven leading French geographers discuss the scope of their field and whether theways space has been divided are adequate-meaning either to consolidate those ivays or to qualify them. How can regions be looked at ? How can the notion be interpreted if it is to bring together institution and production as well as to combine the scale of space at the every-day level and the scale of communications network ?
