Abstract

Health of the immigrant workers in France : medico-social and anthropological aspects.

The article looks at the motivation of immigrants as well as their behaviour at work, taking anthropological considerations into account. The social status of work in the culture of their country of origin is illustrated by the case of North Africans. The article points out the frequency of accidents at work in comparaison with the French.
Returning to work after an accident immigrants come across certain difficulties which are examined in the article.
In conclusion the writer proposes certain ideas which aim to improve our knowledge of risks at work and thus to reduce the immigrants' vulnerability.
