Abstract

The review analyses the monograph of A.G. Sheshken on the history of Macedonian literature. It is emphasized that the main achievement of the author is the comprehensive description and analysis of Macedonian literature, its periods and most important representatives which is the first in Russian scholarship. The Macedonian literature is placed in the context of the Yugoslavian literature, and the role of foreign (including Russian) artistic experience and translations for its formation is emphasized. The great merit of the book is the coverage of the achievements of the Russian Macedonian studies.
