Abstract
This article examines the revolutionary strategy of the FSLN during the 1960s and 1970s. The Sandinistas' experimentation with various forms of guerrilla warfare is analysed. Despite setbacks, the Sandinistas were able to adapt their tactics and eventually seized power. The Sandinista war in Nicaragua provides an excellent case study of the application and modification of the prevalent theories of revolution and guerrilla warfare. (UNISA/DÜI)
