Abstract

The test of the Thatcher era stimulated theoretical debate and led to the development of post-Marxism centred around the reconverted Marxism Today. There was also an unmistakable radicalisation of Centre opinion. Examines changes in left sociology brought about by Giddens and Michael Mann, in cultural analysis by Gellner and in anthropology by Goody. (SJK)
