In: International affairs: a Russian journal of world politics, diplomacy and international relations, Band 56, Heft 1, S. 253-254
Abstract
Presents a tribute to Russian diplomat Boris Kolokov on his 85th birthday which was celebrated at a reception arranged by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at the historic MFA mansion. It is noted that Kolokov graduated from the legendary MGIMO where he quickly became a leader among the students. He worked for a number of years within the United Nations system of international organizations before being appointed Chief of the protocol service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was subsequently named USSR Ambassador to Tunisia where he served with honor & loyalty. Attention is called to Kolokov's efforts to strengthen & consolidate Russia's diplomatic service during the trials & tribulations of the 1990s as well as his natural talent for coming up with the right moves at the right times. Happy Birthday Boris! Adapted from the source document.
