Abstract
While Burma's military government slammed down violently the revolt initiated by Buddhist monks in September 2007, existing and substantial connections between the local public were clearly represented. Or so it seemed. The author of the present article states that despite impression, one cannot speak of a spontaneous rebellion, nor of the foreign-incited rebellion as has been argued by the Burmese government.
